Home from the most amazing place on Earth and already planning next time!

We got home today after the best 2 weeks ever! It was so amazing, I cried so many times Really really sad now, and it wasn't helped by the fact our flight was delayed which made us miss our train

We're already looking at how much it would cost to go for 3 weeks because we would need that long to do everything next time and it looks like it would only be about £1200 more than we paid this time We wouldn't be going until 2015 though unfortunately because I don't know if I'll have a job as soon as I finish my apprenticeship next year, but fingers crossed. I think we will definitely be going in May again so we can do Star Wars Weekend again because it was amazing!! Plus peak season seems to have just started and the last 2 days were so much busier than the rest of the holiday.

Has anyone been for 3 weeks? Is it a bit too long or is it the perfect amount of time to get everything done? We missed out loads of stuff we waned to do, and didn't even have any days of just sitting by the pool!

However I will say that it doesn't matter how long or how many times you go there are still things you haven't done/seen/eaten!

The end of May isn't peak season it's just a bit busier as there is Memorial Day holiday the last Monday in May which attracts extra crowds. The schools don't finish until mid June which is when the real peak begins

However I will say that it doesn't matter how long or how many times you go there are still things you haven't done/seen/eaten!

SWW are fab, weve been to a few now but my son & husband are Star Wars addicts and would love to go to every one.

I would love to go for 3 weeks too, Id perhaps spend 1 week doing Universal, seaworld & extras. Perhaps in the future
Theres a few people who go for 3 weeks, I don't think itd be too long.
Although I guess it would depend on how many of you there are and where you stay.

We've actually been lucky enough to go for 4 weeks and believe me, if you're already on this forum then it's a lost cause, there is no amount of time that is too long.

To this day (and we must be pushing 150 days in total in Florida) we still never tire of just soaking up the atmosphere in Downtown Disney or walking up Main Street USA or just browsing the outlet malls while the kids go on those rubbish rides for 75 cents.

Last year was our first visit to the Enchanted Tiki Room, Swiss Family Tree House and frist drive on the cars in MK. There are still things we've got to do and being our first trip onsite last year, we've never really visited all the resorts or restaurants before. I can't see a day where I'm ever going to tire of going or run out of things to do. We've never even made it to any of the parks outside Orlando!

We have done 30 trips now anywhere between 7-25 nights.
Longer the better, could easily stay longer than 25 nights.
Even after 20 years visiting we still do new things, couple of years ago did hot air balloon, last year Matt did Parasailing, this year flew to Miami then drove to Key West, Everglades, Venice, Captiva, Sanibel, Karen & Matt did the Characters in flights........
Next trip we are staying our first 9 nights at Swan & Dolphin, This will create new experiences, spend a bit of time around the Boardwalk area, plan is to have some pool time but it never happens.
Its never ending, I don't think you can ever run out of things to do. New things are added locally and you can visit further afield.

I have just finished writing my trip report for our (almost) 3-week trip last summer.

We both felt, before we went, that two weeks had never seemed long enough but were worried 3 weeks might be too much. It wasn't and, as others have said, it probably still wasn't long enough. Our ultimate goal is to go for a month every summer when DS is older.

It's a bit long though, and it's important, in my opinion, to go for different experiences.
21 days on 21 days ultimate tickets, hitting the parks, day in and day out, will get old pretty fast.
You can *almost* do that on a 14 days trip, but not on a 21 days.
You really need to plan additional things, days off, day trips to other places.
We do things like go to showcase of citrus to pick oranges, go to the beach in clearwater, and many other things.

21 days in Florida is just heaven on earth. But 21 days inside the Disney Bubble ... that might be too much for some. If you ever go for 3 weeks plan "outside the box" or rather "outside the bubble"

I am trying to work out finances to do something similar. Might not be able to afford 3 weeks but definitely want some time doing Universal and Sea World (maybe 4 nights?) and then 14 days onsite at Disney. If I could afford to go longer, I would!

I wasn't too fond of Universal/IoA it just wasn't anywhere near as good as Disney, wish we had of done Busch Gardens instead. I could spend everyday in Magic Kingdom and not get bored lol

We might end up going with DBFs family next time and just stay for a week longer than them so we can do SWW and have time by ourselves too ^_^

we nearly always go for 21 nights. This trip is 15 nights and we are already feeling that we should have gone longer again. We get the 21 day ultimate ticket when we are there for 3 weeks and never get fed up going into the parks everyday, although some days we might only go for an evening. We only ever give Universal a max of 2 days..everybody is different. But after 21 nights we are ready to come home.

I am a die hard WDW fan...and will never get fed up with going.

We always do 3 wk trips now, we did 2 lots of 2 wk when dh and myself went for our 1st trips together as a family 1 before we got married which was our 1st stay on site as I had always stayed off site, then for our Disney wedding ( it's tinker pea using dh phone for anyone confused as to why my hubby just gained a hubby lol)

And after always doing at least 3 wks when I went before meeting dh, 2 weeks just wasn't long enough!!
Dh never thought he would want longer then 2 wks when we 1st went " in fact he didn't want to go at all when I first wanted to go as he thought it was tacky and just for kids" little did he know he would never want to holiday any where else again haha!!

Our 1st 3wk trip as a family was amazing we stayed at AKL in Jambo house, and the 1st and 2nd week really did seem to take forever to pass then the 3rd wk just zoomed by
So I always find that on a 2wk trips the 2nd wk just disappears.

When I was younger and up until I was 18 we regularly did 4-6 wks in the US, normally 3 wks was spent at Nashville seeing family and St. Pete's beach then we would go down to I-drive and do Disney and universal/sea world/wet and wild etc for the next 3 wks.
I always find that you can relax a little more with a 3wk trip you don't feel as though time at the resort by the pool is a waste of precious park time, in fact last trip the boys really enjoyed making the most of the games by the pool at SSR it was some of the best moments of the trip for them, normally if it was 2wks we would have been dragging them away from the entertainment To get to the parks so it was nice to do what they wanted.

In the trips dh and i have taken which is now 5 we have not seen country bears,hall of presidents,Tom sawyer island we only did carousel of progress 1st time last trip, there is many more that we haven't done and yet we try to miss nothing! It's just not possible to do everything lol.

I can ditto all the above. We always go for 3 weeks and so enjoy how we can pop in to any park for 2-3 hours without feeling we have to do everything there. Our time is very relaxing no early starts no rushing just soaking up all the magical moments. We still have not done everything and disney are always adding. Happy days

I go for four and love it sometimes I just go to a park and chill out. Think abut annual passes for that length of time

Sorry to hijack the thread but spotted the mention of Boardwalk and Swan &Dolphin! We enjoyed a visit there on our recent trip and thought about a stay. Am assuming you got a reasonable price ;-)
