Well we are finally unpacked and the laundry is done! First I want to thank everyone on this board for all their insight, and very helpful info.
All I can say is WOW...I am ready to go back on another cruise. 3 nights is not long enough. Now if I can just figure out a way to pay for it.

A short (hopefully) trip report.

CBR Resort is beautiful. We stayed in Jamaica 4300 and was only a short walk to the main pool and food court. MK was extremely crowded on the Tuesday we were there and HOT. All the other parks we had little to no wait for anything.

On to the cruise. Wow oh WOW!!! I have cruised before, but never with Disney. There is nothing like seeing the Wonder for the first time. AWESOME. We arrived a little after 1 via DCL pickup from the AK and walked right on the ship. The rooms were ready and our bags were waiting for us. We were on deck 2, we had Cat 9 and our DS's (21 and 14) had a cat 12 just down the hall. The lunch buffet was delicious, I could have eaten shrimp all afternoon. I did notice Carnival Cruise leaving before us, the decks were quiet compared to the party going on for us.

Dinner at Tritons the first night, more shrimp for me, DS(21) tried escargot. yuck. But he loved them, we had Dario from Croatia as our server and he was wonderful. AP was the next night, loved the walls, but the food was OK, hey I didn't have to cook or clean so everything was good for me. The PC the last night was a great dining room. I do have to say we were a party of 5, and shared a table. Unfortunatley the people we shared with were less then thrilled to share a table and basically ignored us the entire time. Oh well, more time with our boys for us. DS was even given a double order of the snails when we ate in PC from Dario since he loved them the first night so much, apparently he went to Tritons to get them for him.

My DS (7) LOVED the Oceaneers Lab, we had to drag him out for dinner and he actually was upset that he still had a hour to go when we picked him up at midnight. DS(14) had a ball at Common Grounds and we only saw him at dinner as well. DS (21) hung with mom and dad, but that was nice since he is usually away at college.

Nassau we stayed on board, had the pools basically to ourselves. CC was incredible, the oldest 2 and DH parasailed, the are still talking about that. I swam with the youngest and we had a great time. A konk cooler is not to be missed, and I will admit i had one at 10 am. However sunblock 50 generously applied several times still had me burnt. Smooth sailing the entire time.

Well I went on and on and I swore I wouldn't. So, as soon as we can we are taking a longer cruise!!!! Once again thanks for everyones help and info.

Glad to hear you had a great time. i have a question did you use dcl transfers from air port to resort? did you put luggage tags on your suit cases prior to leaving home , Thanks ºoº

Yes we did use DCL transfers the entire way. We didn't put the tags on at home because we went down a day early to Florida and stayed the night a airport hotel. However when we did get to MCO on Sunday we had them on our bags and never had to cart them anywhere till the end of the trip.

great report!!
your server sounds wonderful...
our head waiter did that too.....our first night we ate at tritons where they had this unbelievable poached sea bass...
my son thought he'd died and gone to heaven...
his eyes nearly rolled to the back of his head..
he liked it so much, the head waiter (i.e., maitre d') went to tritons every night to get it for him....
unfortunately, i heard that took this item off the menu...
my son is devastated that he won't be able to have it on the cruise this summer...

Sad to say I don't remember it being on our menu. I know they has some sort of fish, but it was breaded I think. My DH would have had what your son loves if it had been offered. My DH would have had the creme brulee cheesecake at every meal if he could have. As it was our 7 yr old lived on PB&J and fruit cup with extra grapes at every dinner. LOL

Bethipooh4 - We were on the Carnival Fantasy that headed out just before you guys left and you're right....They did NOT throw a sailaway party anything like Disney does, as matter of fact they don't do anything like Disney does. We spent the majority of our time in port staring at the Wonder wishing we was on her instead. The Only reason we was on the Fantasy was because we got to go on it free through a rewards program at work. The only thing that got us through it was knowing we'll be on the Magic in a few weeks. ::yes::

I'm glad you and your family had a "Wonder"ful time.

Hi Cheryl,

Wow, I'm sorry your ship was so quiet, but at least it was free...LOL My DH kept looking at the Fantasy going, wow they are quiet over there. I think at Nassau the entire port heard our sail away party, but we all had a blast.
I hope you enjoy your upcoming "Magical"cruise, and make some noise for us!!!

Bethipooh,
What rooms did you have on deck 2? Any noise complaints?Curious, as that's where we are for ours. THANKS!

DH, DS(7) and myself had 2014(outside), and DS's(21 & 14) had 2019(inside). Originally they had 2015 across the hall, but apparently there was a problem with that stateroom and they were moved.
The rooms are great, the only noise we ever heard was from the ship when we were backing to CC. Never heard any other noise from above or from the hallway. The rooms are really nice. And never felt very much ship movement, but the sea was very calm while we were there.

Have a great trip.

Bethipooh4, Thanks for the report!! Sounds like things were great. Sorry about the table mates!! I was wondering about the shows on board. What did you think? Did you do any of the other activities offer on the ship?

Thanks again for taking the time to share your trip report!! It really helps those of us waiting to sail!!!

We went to all 3 shows offered, Eldest DS is a theater major so we didn't have a choice. LOL Saw Hercules on night 1, the Golden Mickeys on night 2 and Disney Dreams on night 3. Loved hercules and disney dreams, the golden mickeys were good, but to us the other 2 were awesome. Dreams brought a tear to my eyes. Youngest DS(7) took part in Discover the Magic, if you have a little one, you will love seeing them on stage. Plus they get a free t-shirt for being in it. This is on CC day.

We did the wine tasting at Palo's while docked in Nassau, 12.00 per person, very informative and alot of fun. I was slightly tipsy after "sampling" 6 different wines. Received a nice pin for attending it. We went to the deck party while leaving Nassau, and buffet, went to 70"s and 80's night onboard. Other then that spent alot of time with DH.

Middle DS(14) went on the teen jam at Nassau and loved it, he did alot of the teen stuff offered through Common Grounds. And we had a hard time keeping youngest DS out of the Oceaneers Club. They always had something going on, as I sit here looking at the Flubber he made.

Let me know if I can answer anymore questions. Enjoy your vacation!!!!!

I'm curious about your 21 year old son...did he have a good time on the cruise? I know you said that he hung around with you most of the time, but were there any other people on board that were around his age? The reason I ask is that we will have our 19 year old daughter with us for our cruise, and I am worried that she will be bored.

According to DS, he had a blast. There were a few his age on the ship. He totally enjoyed the shows and the excursions we went on. With him, he had just turned 21, so he was experiencing finally being "legal". He did love the theme nights, and met a nice group of people his age 19 and above, as well as CM's in Wavebands. Also after 9 pm Route 66 is 18 and older only. Hope this helps.

we sailed on the 3 day wonder cruise 2 years ago (summer 2002)...
DS was 15 at the time and spent almost all of his time in common grounds activities...
DD was 18 and hung out with us the entire time...
she was too old for common ground and too young for the singles crowd...
there wasn't anything at all for the 18 to 21 year old group...
HOWEVER, despite that, my daughter had the best time of all of us...even though she hung out with us the whole time..
she's the reason we're going back for a 4 day next month....she LOVED the ship...loved loved loved it......and the adult activities....and castaway cay....and everything...
