Does anyone remember our tire blowout on the way home from the Fort last year? We did it again! About halfway home today and the tire on the other side of the popup went. We lost half the sewer valve/drain assembly in the process. Good times - lol. Gotta laugh or I'll cry.
Our drive down, fortunately, was uneventful and we made it to Knoebel's fine on Monday. It had poured there, so the ground was a wet, muddy mess, but we got set up. They gave us a nice, big site.
The first night, we just hung out, relaxed and, later, tried to sleep but the people behind us were so LOUD. I finally went out at 2 a.m. and asked them to keep it down as we had kids and they weren't able to sleep. I'll give them credit for quieting down, but Knoebel's gets no points in my book. Why have "security" people zipping around in golf carts if they aren't going to enforce the quiet hours??
My daughter (aged 14) kept walking around saying, "Disney ruined me! Why don't they do things like Disney?" LOL
They also don't win points for their comfort stations. While there were ample showers and toilets to go around, they weren't the cleanest and I only saw people cleaing them once in the days we were there.
I do give them credit for providing some transportation....
but the fun bus is no Disney bus. First off, I miss the "Disney guy" and his voice. Second, even though our site was at the back of the campground, we could walk there almost faster than the bus got there.
On Tuesday, we went to this place and we all loved it!
The hubs and I even had fun! (Notice I'm wearing Mickey even though I'm not at Disney. Gotta represent!)
We spent yesterday at Knoebel's and it was ..... ok? Not horrible, but not Disney either. We like rides and my kids are adrenaline junkies - so there were 2 coasters, one drop ride like ToT, and another ride somewhere between a coaster and a bobsled that were fun - and that was about it. We liked the chairlift....
but a lot of the rides are just carnival rides that we can enjoy at the fair. So, it was fun but is not on our repeat list. Great places if you live within, say an hour, to go and have some fun. Not a "destination" for us.
Other than the tire blowout, the ride home was uneventful and now I'm relaxing. Not dealing with opening and cleaning the camper until tomorrow.
