We go to the professional show when they have them at the park by the mall. Our friends have a pool party, then we shop at the mall and then go to have drinks before the show.

On the 4th we do our own fireworks that are legal and stay on the ground, like fountains, snakes and such. We put them in our steet, since there's no traffic at that time. That way we don't have burn marks in our driveway. Most of our neighbors do this and works out fine. We then put them in a bucket with water overnight.

We gather with other families in the middle of our cul-de-sac and light off sparkler type fireworks which are the only kind that are legal here. No bottlerockets or explosive types are legal, I am kinda glad about that.

We always do our own show. My family has the entire church family over for the 4th and does a fire works show then. We are getting ready to make the trip to purchase the fireworks soon.

As far as me,I like a good professinal show but hate the crowds that come with it.Trying to find a parking spot,set our chairs up for a good spot early and get trampled on when the crowds show.Then a 1/2hour show,it takes 2hrs to get home then..

So for the past 5yrs our nieghborhood gets toghether and thro a huge party and pitch in for fireworks.Its pretty cool.Last year the donations were over 2k and we put on one heck of a show..
Big bon fire bring your own plate and drinks.Someone gets designated to BBQ!!

Luckly in Fla if you live in a agriculture nieghborhood you can get any kind of consumer grade firewoks..

DS and family are in process of being transferred from to Ft Bragg, NC. He, DIL and family plan to stay with us a week over July 4th period . So we're planning to have a few fun family get togethers while they are here, as he is due to be deployed to Afghanistan mid August. We're near quite a few big 4th events, so we have a few possibilities. Whatever we decide, we'll all have a good time for sure!
