Anyone have an idea of their pricing?

Our local tree farm is $10 per foot. Trying to decide if it is "worth it" to go there.

We usually get a 5' Frazier fir for $25-30.

We usually get a 6' one at Lowe's for $35-40 Frasir Fir, I believe the other Fir is a bit more.

Wow, $10/ft is high! We pay around $40 for a 8' Scotch Pine at our local place. Spruce and fir varieties are a little more, and large trees (over 10') are priced higher as well.

I don't like buying from the big boxes because those trees are cut so far in advance. Fresher trees mean less drying out and fewer needles to clean up. But I'm not sure I'd pay twice the price for a fresh-cut tree.

I was at Lowe's today and they had a cute tree out front all set up. I was taller than the tree (I'm 5'7") so I'd say it was somewhere a little bit taller than 5 feet and it was priced at $34.99.

I'm thinking that pricing is regional also. Anyway, a tree from the tree farm is going to be fresher. I think that buying one now in an area where there aren't a lot of fresh trees could make for a very disappointing tree come Christmas.

We get a 6 ft Frazier fir from Home Depot. I know these Re cut earlier but one year we paid over $100 for a fresh cut tree. It didn't last the whole season.

The next year we got the one from Home Depot for about $35-40. It lasted much longer and ever since we have only purchased from Home Depot.
