Hi everyone!

I am getting ready to plan a trip with my husband and 2 kids (2 1/2 yrs old, and 5 months) we were looking at DBW or DBC to stay, we would like a 2 bedroom. What hotel would you guys suggest?? Any of these two or another home away from home???

Thanks for your help!!

since you kids are so small - you will probably be spending more time in the MK - so I would go with VWL.

It completely depends upon you.

both BCV and BWV are great resorts.

you can rent points from a DVC member and save you some money - but these villas are expensive.

BCV has SALB (storm a long bay) - but your kids are too little to real enjoy this pool.

BCV and VWL both had dedicated bedrooms with 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom - BWV only has lock off 1 queen bed and a sleeper sofa in the 2nd bedroom.

if you determine that either or both parks -Epcot or Studios will be where the majority of your time will be spend - go with BWV or BCV.

if however you determine that the MK will be your major time effort - then I would go with VWL.

if you want more room in your villa then OKW. this is more like a condo - or small town. the other DVC resorts are designed more like a hotel. Just depends which you prefer.

We have only stayed at the BCV's so far and your 2.5 year old might enjoy the sand bar area of the pool. It is a sandy bottom shallow pool area that only gets up to 2.5 -3 feet deep (my estimate) with a big mound of sand to play in.

VWL might be nice being so close to MK.

You could also consider a 1 bedroom. The 2.5 yo could sleep on the pullout couch and the baby in the pack and play either in the living area or the master bedroom. You will still have 2 rooms to spread out, the full kitchen and washer/dryer. You gotta love those things with little ones!

Our family of four, incl DD4 and DS1 (in pack 'n play), fit quite comfortably in a 1br villa at SSR-- same size as most other 1br villas. I slept with DD4 in the pull-out sofa (actually very comfy for a pull-out sofa). DS1 slept in pack 'n play in the bedroom and DW slept in the king size bed.

Most people rule out the home away from home villas because they're costly. But when you consider the in-room washer & dryer (pack less clothes), plus eating breakfast in your room everyday, there are some big cost savings there. We also packed a collapsible/soft cooler and brought our lunches and snacks every day. Only food we paid for was dinner.

We have stayed at the BCV and the boat dock, food places and SAB are quite a hike from the villas. With small children you may be happier with VWL. We have stayed there as well and everything is much more convenient. They have a children's pool, beach, the Electric Water Pageant, and the boat and bus locations and food options are closer. You are also close to FW which has a petting farm, campfire and movie, and hayrides. Just something else that you can do.

I also would recommend a 1 bedroom unless you want to have a separate room for the children other than the living room and master bedroom. It would save you some money.

Have fun no matter where you stay!

Ok we are DVC members. Have stayed only at SSR and OKW. Yes, they are expensive as others have stated. Have you thought about a studio there. Not sure why a 2 bedroom? A 1 bedroom would be fine or a studio, if you don't mind being with the kids. Our children are 4 and 6. One boy and one girl. They sleep together on the fold out sofa and we take the bed. For us it is more iimportant to go more days than to have separate, more expensive rooms. If you are staying in home away from home, studios do not have washer and dryers, but they are free to use at the resorts. You need to buy or bring detergent. We have loved both SSR and OKW. SSR is the newest and has a great pool area for your kids. Also, many kids activities. OKW is great because the rooms are bigger. It was the first DVC resort built. So, if you get a studio there it is bigger than the other resorts. It actually had to 2 beds and not the fold out sofa. They just added a new water side to their main pool. This vacation we are trying BWV, so I can't comment on it or, BC or VWL.
