Home again and we're still cold!

Returned this afternoon (minus one suitcase - still in Detroit - thanks Delta ) from a freezing cold Orlando to a much much colder Glasgow Had a great time for our first visit at Christmas/ New Year. The theming is fantastic! It was wonderful to see DD who is loving her year working for the mouse but it was SO busy. We're seasoned veterans of several July 4ths but have never seen the place as busy as it was. Not just the parks - everywhere! Roads, shops, restaurants everything was far busier than we've ever seen it. The weather was unseasonably cold but lovely to walk about in if you were well wrapped up. Not sure I would brave the crowds again unless i was out visiting DD or DS. Looking forward to Easter now

We have been 5 times at Xmas, last year was the busiest we have experienced, its a fantastic time to go but last years crowds have put me off returning at Xmas for a few years.
We are also looking forward to Easter, 4th April, can't wait

Do you know where you are staying yet?
I keep looking, can get http://www.orlandovistahotel.com/ for about £25/night, Extended suites about same price or could splash out on Embassy suites but they are about £35/night and $9.95/night internet. Can't decide, keep hoping a bargain jumps out at me.

Haven't booked anything yet. When we all go we usually rent a villa at Indian Creek (DH, DS, Cairstiona's BF, Granny and I have all just come home) however in October it was just Tony and I and we stayed at the Homewood Suites at Lake Buena Vista (had a lovely double suite with pool view). The Suites were great (loved the waffles for brekkie) and missed out that terrible bottleneck at the Fairfield/Springfield Suites corner. Criticism would have been the pool - small and sunbeds looked good but not very comfy. We're inclined to use Typhoon Lagoon though. DD stays at The Commons and so has to contend with the jam each day but we didn't fancy it. With the improvement of Premium Outlets and Mary Queen of the Universe it seems to be a permanent queue there 24/7 now. There are also new traffic lights at the outlets and that seems to slow things up even more. We certainly found the Homewood Suites to be handy in October as well as good value. Dearer now than we paid back then but waiting for the 3 month window so I can do cashback.

We stayed at Homewood suites near Universal a few years back, £22/night great for the money. Never seen that price since, I believe it should have been £22pp not per room.

Glad you had a good break. I always find the parks at Christmas to be heaving. We tend to go now for the shopping and the ambience at Christmas. We love people watching, mind you not in the cold. Cold in Orlando just does not seem right somehow

We were in Orlando one year when it was colder than the UK. We needed hats, coats, gloves and scarves as it was just soooo cold. Mind you the parks where quieter that day
