We just got back from a weekend in Que. We were 2.5 hours south of Montreal. About 1600km round trip. Gas in PQ was $1.45 or more and the entire trip cost us about $200 in gas (a Ford Escape). Makes our $200 pp airfare from Buffalo much easier to swallow. I cringe to think what that trip would cost.

I know it's not as expensive in the US but it's still over $4/ gallon in most places. I need one of these :moped:

$1.451 here in Cape Breton. If you head toward Halifax prices drop by about two cents, but nonetheless high prices in Nova Scotia.

I have found it ranges from 1.28-1.33 in London. Your Escape must be pretty tough on gas we charted our trip for camping in Oct and at current US prices and our MPG it is going to cost us just over 240 dollars for the drive down. That is driving I 75 to KY then on to TN to the mtns then across to Savannah GA then to hilton head Island then to Homosa Springs then down to the Sarasota area then up to Disney. So over 2000Kilometers and it is estimated to be just a tad over 240.00 bucks.

We drove a 2006 Escape to WDW the last 3 years, and gas cost us around $240 in 2005, $280 in 2006, and $300 last year. This is round trip, and includes several trips around Orlando/Kissimmee for shopping. Using fuelcostcalculator.com the same trip is predicted to be $343 this year, at an average of $4.01/gal (gasbuddy and fuelcostcalculator prices). As per phabric's post, their best price out of Buffalo was $303/person, so I still cringe at the $1212 it would cost for us to fly down. Driving will cost us about $550 including meals, hotels, gas and tolls. The big hike in gas has added $45 to our cost....no big deal.

I agree Digs it is a drop in teh bucket copmpared to the cost of flights I think of all teh extra things I can do with an additional 800 bucks or so for spending on shopping or shows or what have you.

136.9 in Southeastern Ontario starting last night...geeez....

I am glad I can bike to work, and yes I do feel bad for those that have no other choice but to drive...and I still think it is possible to produce cars that get much better gas mileage then they do now ( conspiracy theory number 12) :rolleyes1
