Holy Crud.. I can see my car!!

Matt was telling me about maps.google.com and how they have satellite images of cities - Have you guys tried this?

They didn't have where we live up yet but they have the area my mall is in up and I was able to get so close that I can see my car right where I park it everyday.

Let that be a warning to you.. don't be adjusting your underwear or something outside just because you don't see anyone around.. these satellites are pretty darn powerful.

Just hope no one is outside "sunning" by the pool when the satellite goes over!

Thank goodness the satellite picture was taken during the winter over my area. Google users would have been pleasantly surprised by the skinny dipping adventures that I do in my pool.

I put in: 5302 Cast Center Dr, Orlando, FL 32830 and see it! But what is the water ?? Looks like 20,000 leagues??? Is it that old?

That's really cool, yet kind of scary too. I put in our address and saw our house, but the calibration seems to be a bit off because the pointer shows is on one of our neighbor's houses a few doors down.

ETA: I'm also curious how old these images are. There's been some major construction going on across the street from us for over a month and I don't see any signs of that at all.

It's pretty cool. You can see our fence, pond and trees, etc. Our neighbors have sport court that you can see. The pointer is in the wrong spot though, our house is numbered wrong for our neighborhood-has been for over 10 years.

Yup. Since the picture for my area is pretty old you can see our new house being built and our cars in the old driveway. We only moved two blocks away when we bought the new house.

The picture of my mall is about 8 months old because we are under construction and at the time of the picture the east wing had been demolished.

You can go one better and Zillow.com your house or your neighbor's/boss's etc. house and not only see the house but an "estimate" of its value.

My picture is about 3-4 years old judging from nearby construction. So we were living here at the time. I can see my patio table, that's about it. There's a shadow from the house next door which is blocking the view of our swingset.

I just looked mine up too & while it's been since October of 05, (since that's when we got our front yard professionally landscaped), the picture is pretty cool but old. Wonder how often it's updated?
