Hey Guys,

I was thinking of things to do on our upcoming Thanksgiving trip with the Bro In Law and his family, when I realized that this Christmas will be my 20th anniversary. So I naturally thought i need to do something while we are in Disney, and I am looking for inputs from my buds here, who may have done something similar.

She's not big on dressing up and I am going to have to sidebar with my sister in law to get them to watch our kids one evening, but I definitely want to do something.

DW and I enjoyed watching Illuminations: Reflections of Earth from Rose and Crown. The food and service was great.

Thanks Randall. I will definitely consider the rose and crown. I love the food there and the service has always been good.

On the first night of our trip, DW and I went to Cali Grill and saw the fireworks. It was a bit busy, but the show was amazing. It might be even better to watch outside (DW is afraid of heights so we didn't spend much time outside the restaurant.).

I would agree with Casey in this recommendation. I don't believe you necessarily have to "dress up" per say when going to the California Grill. And the view of the fireworks from there would be a great way to end your evening.

The last time we were in the world, we cut out early from the parks and went to Polly and sat on the beach. They were showing Loin King on a big blown up screen. They stopped the movie whenthe Electric Water Parade came by. The movie ended just before Wishes started over MK. It was a whole different way to see the fireworks over the castle. It was a cheap date, but one I still remember fondly.

Thanks Guys.

I thought the Cali Grill required suite and tie, that was my reasoning for the "dress up" comment. I appreciate the input guys, I knew I could count on you!

This is taken right from the WDW website regarding California Grill's attire guidelines:

Dress Code Guidelines:
Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.
Not permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While T-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that T-shirts with offensive language or graphics are not acceptable.

How about getting dinner on the Boardwalk and then heading to Jellyrolls. Could be a nice dinner for 2 and then some fun and entertainment.

Sorry Matt, I don't check over here too often. Looks like you have things planned. But, if you are still searching, I would stay at BLT to go to the TOTWL for drinks and the great view. I'll second the Boardwalk. Lots of energy over there with free nighttime entertainment and people. DW would go with me to ESPN club in shorts. That's why I love that woman

Thanks for your input guys! I'm leaning more towards Boardwalk, now just need to arrange things with the brother in law to watch the kids one night.

We did a Wishes Cruise a few years back for my wife's birthday. It was awesome. Took a cruise around Bay Lake, saw the Electric water parade and then saw the fireworks from the middle of the lake.

This is awesome... there is no better way to do Anniversary than Disney! We went on our very first Disney cruise for our 20th (felt so bad we ended up taking the kids too), and we just got back from our 25th Anniversary Disney cruise on the Mexican Riviera!

If you are set on going to Boardwalk then maybe do a "Dine with an imagineer" package at Flying Fish? Or if you happen to drink wine, they have a Chef's table type experience at Flying Fish as well.
They also have a Chef's Menu special dining experience over at Kouzzina's that I here is really good.

If you felt like breaking away from Boardwalk area, I have to say 2 of our newest favorite romantic/casual restaurants have been Citrico's or Narcoosee's.

All really great suggestions papamouse, but I have to minimize on this trip.:sad1: Just paid out 6K$ for a new roof, so Im struggling to cover the WDW trip already. Now next trip....:thumbsup2 Maybe looking at a trip next June.

I spoke with the BIL yesterday, and he has no issues watching the girls for us one evening, so Im thinking the Boardwalk is looking pretty good. I've never been over there, so I am really looking forward to it!

Thanks guys for all your suggestions and inputs! Cheers!

Matt -

On our last trip - DW and I left our girls with our SIL and hopped a bus to the Boardwalk area. Ate dinner at Il Mulino in the Swan (good food, really loud atmosphere though) and then walked the boardwalk. It was a very nice evening! Enjoy.

p.s. We may be taking a trip next June as well!
