We have been on the Magic 2 times now - and admittedly they were both during off season (beginning of December and beginning of February), but I have been checking prices for the Thanksgiving week cruise next year (Nov 19, 2005) and I am amazed at the difference in price from what we have paid. I knew it would be more, being a holiday week, but good grief!
We are talking several thousand dollars more than what we paid before for our family (almost double, depending on what category I was looking at).
How does the Thanksgiving cruise compare price-wise with other peak times like Christmas, Spring Break cruises, etc.?? Is it normal for Thanksgiving to be that much more than off season rates?
Yikes!

We have always got in value season, and we are also having sticker shock from looking at the times when kids are out of school (which we have to start doing next year). We did find that our spring break time was less than summer rates right now, but our school hasn't decided on which week it will be (we always have a week in March). As long as your spring break doesn't follow Easter, you may find that week to be better. It isn't as good as September (when we have gone in the past), but we are able to consider it at least.

I hope you can find something that works for you!

We booked for that week too, but it is my step-daugter's birthday over that cruise so I am going to try to make this one happen.

We always cruise in the summer so for her to be on a cruise that visits CC twice, celebrates Thanksgiving and her birthday is tough to pass on.

We're booked on that cruise also, and I'll be honest. Without the double CC stop I never would have paid that much. My husband turns forty the next month so that is my excuse.

Our day at CC in 2003 was one of the best vacation days in our life. Worth every penny.

It looks pretty full for our category. I wanted Deck 6 midship and no can do. Only Deck 6 forward or aft by the stairs.

I'm can't wait to hear from the cruisers who are on the 2004 Thanksgiving trip!!

I have to admit, the double CC day is what caught my eye. Besides that - our oldest will be in 8th grade by then and I just think it is too much to pull him out of school for a week which is what we did with our other 2 cruises. At least on Thanksgiving week they only miss 2 days of school. And actually his middle school just started "block scheduling", so they have each class every other day for twice as long - so by missing 2 days he really only misses one day in each class! (can you tell I'm rationalizing!)
I guess it's just a matter of deciding if the high price is worth the 2 days at CC! Part of our problem is that we have 3 kids, so we either have to have 2 cabins or a REALLY expensive cat. 4. Oh well, I guess I need to decide soon - from what I'm hearing it sounds like it will book up quickly!
