It is good for Me & My Job I work for a bus company and when the dollar gets high we start getting more shopping trips to the US and if it stays high maybee i can stay on site for all 10 days if Feb

I have to agree that the dollar is GREAT for travellers right now - but very bad for our economy!

It may be time to book some more future vacations south.

Anyone have an ing account, and if you take out funds at a US atm, does it come straight from your USD account (assuming you can pick which account to withdraw from.)?

If you use a credit card to make a US transaction your CC company has an exchange mark up...thus you will never pay the posted rate.

It was reported this morning on teh radio that our dollar was sitting at over 89-90 cents this morning nice to see finally I am suspecting at this rate we may have a stronger dollar than the US.

the chances of us having a stronger dollar than the us are extremely thin. Credit card companies normally charge 0.015 more, so it would be 1.135 which is still extremely good

Right now it is sitting at .893 or 1.118.. so a really great deal!
with all of our tax it is looking better to shop in the states, save the tax and a great exchange rate to boot!
I am heading to the bank as soon as my DH puts in his cheque to get some $

There is some predictions that it will be between 95 cents to Par by the end of the year. Yesterday it was reported that this is the best the dollar has been since 1978.

Yes, that is what they said on the news this morning. It was equal to the US in 1978, then went downhill from there.
They also said that it is suspected that we may be equal to the US $ in the next year.
Yay! Keep going up before my trip in August!!
