First of all, I confess that I, Deny DeRosier am a planning junkie, so let the buyer beware.
So here goes:
Before you leave: Call for a PS (reservation) at the Blue Bayou for lunch. About 12:45 should be the right time. The scheduled hours for MK that day are 10am to 8pm, so you'll have to boogie to get it all done.
First grab breakfast outside the parks, there are alot of locations nearby that offer a big meal for a small price. Plan on getting to the restaurant about 8am. It should take about an hour to eat and get to the front gate. Normally the park opens about 60 minutes before the scheduled time, so you'll be able to wander Main Street for about 30 minutes before the rope drops. Don't buy anything you'll have to carry for the full day.
When the rope drops head for Space Mountain, grab a fast pass, then back to the Matterhorn for your first ride of the day. After that loop back around the mountain for Star Tours & Buzz Lightyear before heading back to the hub. Now it's over to Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain before heading to Adventureland for a Jungle Cruise and a visit to Pirates. You should be exiting Pirates just in time for your PS at Blue Bayou. Everyone raves about the Monte Cristo so give it a try. After lunch head over to Indiana Jones to get a FP, then wander through Fantasyland picking any of the rides with short lines. Storybook boats, Alice and Peter Pan are my favorites. Now over to Honey I Shrunk the Audience to let your tummy settle before Space Mountain. Then over to Small World for a nice little ride, then jump on the train for ride to New Orleans Square. Your FP for Indiana Jones should be active by now, so hop on. At this point your checklist is complete and it should be about 5pm. I'll add a couple of my favorites to round out your day. First off check out if the Disney Gallery (above Pirates) is open, it's a hidden treasure for Disney fans. The head over to the Tiki Room and get a Dole Whip to enjoy while watching the Birdies. Now it's decision time. If you want to watch the Parade (which I reccommend) then wander up Main Street to Opera House for the Magical 50th Year film (where Abe used to be). Then grab a spot on the curb to watch the parade. If you're not a parade person head over to Fantasyland to ride some of those you skipped before. The lines should be shorter as most people head for the parade, then exit. One thing you might try, is find out which way the parade is running. If it's from Main Street to Small World, you might be able to catch a couple of Fantasyland rides before going over next to the Teacups to watch the parade from there.
If you've got any energy left, it's shopping time as you head out via Main Street. Whether you're buying or not the glass shop has some amazing stuff. So now it's either back to the hotel to collapse or meet your hubby in Downtown Disney for dinner. Rainforrest Cafe (loud & jungle themed), ESPN Zone (sports themed) or Catal (for a quiet meal) are all excellent. I'd skip the House of Blues that night (a concert is scheduled). If you feel up to a special dinner, there's the Napa Rose in the Grand Californian. It's a 5 star restaurant that allows casual wear. Not cheap, but if hubby likes wine, it'll be his reward for letting you play for the day.
I'm sure glad that this was a short day. If you'd have picked a longer day I would have had to figure some way to get DCA on to the schedule.
Thanks for you patience as I know this was a little long.
Edit: I just noticed the potential of unlimited FP. I set this up using the normal FP schedule.
