Holy cow, beer prices at Splitsville!

Wow - you don't pay that much at a ballgame for a beer as you do at Splitsville! We were thinking of going to have a fun night there and then we checked out the menu. Food prices are a tiny bit high, but not unexpected. Beers are $11 for crappy Coors and Bud and $14 for a premium craft. I paid $15 for a 20 oz Golden Road once at a Dodgers game, and that's the most I've ever paid. Even at DCA GOOD beers are $8-$9.

Yeah, food was decent but I was a bit floored at the prices there all around and I am not at all a cheapskate!

Maybe they don’t want to encourage drinking? I would abstain at those prices.

Everything about that place is ridiculously overpriced. If they don't drop the prices they won't make it two years in that location.

....an indicator of the quality of guests who arrive at SWGE and stay in the four star hotel, that cost $250,000 for each room to be built....it will be a whole new draw of folks, of crowds that need to refresh somewhere....after being in SWGE.....all day.

I wonder if it’s the same pricing scheme they use in Orlando? DtD DLR just doesn’t have the same huge base of people to draw from that Orlando does...

And WDW is full of a bunch of tourists. Disneyland is mostly locals and nobody local will go to Splitsville and not tell there friends about it. I have not seen one review that didn't say it was not over priced.

Holy cow. $15? I could buy a 12-pack of Sierra Nevada for that. Of course I do live about a mile from the brewery, but still...

I'd pay that much for a drink at Trader Sam's, but a regular beer in a bowling alley? Yeesh! No way.

Yeah, we can get 32oz crowlers here in Denver for $10 from good breweries. Agreed that I'd pay that for a Trader Sam's (or Cove Bar) drink, but never a beer.

Just because you have money doesn't mean you never look at the price tag - hotel in a great location is one thing - but you can get beer from LOTS of other places. The menu did not appeal to me at all - overpriced junk food is what it appears to be so we opted for places that had more to offer. I can in fact see people going somewhere more expensive than Splitsville who stay in the new hotel because at least then there is some quality involved hopefully.

Good point! If you feel the experience is worth the price, then you can justify a high cost (Club 33 or Napa Rose Chef's Counter, for instance). But I don't see this falling into the category of experience making it worth the cost when, as you say, you can go any number of nice places in the same area for a lot less. Now, I have to admit I've not been in Splitsville so maybe it offers something extra for some people but for me, it isn't an exciting option.

where are those more expensive places after a long day at SWGE.....because wasn't the garden walk an alternative upon its introduction to all the folks who had money and better taste than DTD or in the parks?

those SWGE visitors did for it decades at Chuck E Cheese, in my 60s now, I was young enough to see the joy but old enough to recognize the high cost of below average pizza.

I'm guessing for starters the new hotel might have a decent restaurant or two...

Yes, very mixed reviews on Yelp for Splitsville Anaheim. Biggest complaints are lackluster food and high prices. Bowling is $24/hour/pp - though that does include shoe rental. Burgers $21. Someone said they were charged $28 for a vodka and Sprite. Yikes.
