Hi all!

After receiving a bonus at work, I decided to forego the responsible things to do with the money, and instead booked a last minute trip to the World.

The cast: me (mom), DD 16 and DS 11. Although we frequently went to WDW when my daughter was young, a divorce and many other unfortunate circumstances caused us to have an 8 year break. So DS hasn't been there since he was 3, and can just barely remember a few details (many probably from stories shared and/or pictures).

We're staying at POFQ in the newly-refurbished Building 7. I called yesterday to politely request my room, and asked if they were yet taking guests in the new rooms, and was placed on hold for a while. Chris at the front desk returned to the phone and happily told me yes!

We're staying for five nights. We have ADR's at Boma for Thanksgiving, and also have one for H&V (as part of the Fantasmic package), Garden View for tea, Les Chefs, and Cape May. I was really tickled to be able to get into some of them, but was disappointed not to be able to work in 'Ohana. Next time...

Other than our ADR's, we have no set plans as to which park on which day, etc. We'll watch the weather and do BB if it's warm enough, and my son will love DQ. I'm going to force myself to live in the moment and not stress about getting our money's worth on park days and all that. My plan is to just enjoy the kids and really give thanks!

We are scheduled to land THIS WEDNESDAY (thus the holy cow!) in Orlando at 11:30 a.m. local time, and will begin our day with bus transport, checking in, and then getting freshened up for Tea at 4:30. After that, it's kids choice as to a park or DQ or just swimming at the hotel...

Let the magic begin!!!

Cheers to all, and I hope we can all take time and be thankful for who we have in our lives, despite loss and hurt. I know first hand that it is a struggle, but so worth it!!!

Peace, love, and pixie dust!
Jo
