HOLY COW!! a PIN for ME!!!!!

OK, so I've been moping around here the last week b/c I needed a pin, a discount or a bag of money to help cover the costs of our trip this coming up June..

well...to make matters worse, I realized a few days ago by reading another thread on here that if you get a pin and it covers dates you dont need, you can just call and see if it can cover other dates..

and just the icing on that lovely cake, I realized I received a pin last month...for the end of this year, that I let expire and never called about other dates because I didnt know...

and I've never called the reservation line and I has some "reservations" about just calling and asking if I had a pin associated with my name...

but, I put on my big girl panties and called the other night..and yeah, well - NOTHING..

but I decided to call again today..and guess what??!!

A PIN FOR ME!!!

It was a "room only" discount....but I could get dining with it, and tickets...

Originally, I was looking at booking the Beach Club, garden view, 6 nights, 6- day hopper tickets, DxDP for $6,420.62 (including insurance) and this pin reduced it to $5,460.01 (including insurance) - that's $960 or a savings of 15% off the entire package!!

WAHOO!!! I'll take it!!!

Im so excited I might not be able to sleep tonight!!!

a pin is like a special coupon code that might be able to be applied to your vacation...

it might be for a discounted room or free dining, but normally when we talk about a pin its either an email or a postcard that is sent directly to you with the discount listed on that.

Instead of Disney just coming out with a public discount, this is like a personal discount - even though sometimes you might get a personal discount just before they come out with a public discount.

The pin I got was a "room only" discount, and I could have added dining and tickets to it - and the best part..

the pin was good for ALL DATES - January 2012 through December 2012...

the agent said..."WOW, this pin is good for the entire year...that's a really good one!!"...

so I snatched it as fast as I could!!

Wow, that's great! Where can I find the phone number to call to find out if there is a PIN associated with my name? We have had PINs in the past, but like you, it was for dates I couldn't use so I threw it away

I found the number for reservations and called and the cm checked for a PIN for me. We did actually have a PIN, but it's for dates through Dec. We are going April 21-28, and she said they have not released PINs for that far out yet and to try again in a month

well, I would CERTAINLY call again - and maybe even sooner than a month!

I worked up the nerve to call the first time like Thursday night, and NOTHING..and then I called Sunday and it was there...

You never know!!

You could get a pin if you've never booked before, but the "theory" is that you need to get on a Disney mailing list....like from ordering a vacation dvd, or custom maps, or even creating an "account" on the Disney web page..

I can honestly say that I didnt start getting pins until after I'd already booked (and taken) my first trip and I had signed up to get email communications from every Disney opportunity I could find!!

I know what you mean!! I try to stick with the "kill them with kindness" theory while on the phone with them..and then try to sit still so they dont hear me jumping around b/c Im so happy Im booking another trip!!

I have gotten both!! Either a postcard in the mail or by email..

and I wanted to add - I LOVE the t-shirts in your siggy with Donald! How did you make them?? I'm hoping to make matching tshirts for our trip in June...DH is not too thrilled, but I cant help it if he doesnt want to wear one, he'll be the one that doesnt match me & the boys (12 & 10) and therefore looks like the "odd ball"!!!

I got one as well, RO discount. It only goes through 2/20/12 though. We were just there this month, so not heading back that quickly. If it had covered my DS's bday on 2/29/12 I would have considered a short mommy/son trip. Oh well.

I got a RO pin as well and it is "Valid for stays most nights January1 through December 21, 2012." I got yesterday in a Disney Destinations email tittled "Disney Resort pics and more, Edwards Family!"

I got a pin yesterday for 35% off deluxe..It's valid Jan through March..unfortunately I am going in August..it's the first time I ever got a PIN!! I am hoping it won't be the last!!!

you should CALL THEM NOW and see if they can apply that pin to your dates in August!!

I just realized that some pins are "flexible" and there's a chance it could be applied to other dates..

you never know until you call!!
