So I just checed the price of our flight out in August and it's **gasp** $310 for Buf to MCO. Coming back not so bad at the 150 mark, but holy....never paid so much even when we went the first week of January, right after New Years:scared1:

At this point Air Tran has the best rates and I think one of the others from the Niagara Aiport does not fly out on Tuesdays and the other does not have their prices out yet for August, so we are leaning towards Air Tran even though we did not fly with them before.

Not liking the fact that DH said we will have to go only once a year from now on. Even if we dont' go to the parks, I still like to chill at the resorts, but at these prices, we might have to go just once a year.

I just booked with Southwest for BUF to MCO and paid $289 roundtrip - what airlines are you looking at? The whole month of August shows $155 (Including taxes and fees) each way (I got it for $145 before it went up :goodvibes). Our friends were reminiscing with us saying "remember when you talked us into Disney for the first time and it cost $49 each way?" Seems like forever ago, but it was only five years!

I think SW is on to the Canadians and the BUF-MCO route, they know they can pack that flight almost 100% of the time.

We are going to LA in June and the airfare was only a smidge more than BUF-MCO.

We went in 2010 for $59 each way. I think those days are long gone.

I am looking at SWA and for some reason the 21s of August is $310.00:sad1: That's like a round trip right there. I also checked Jet Blue and there flight is also $310. for the early a.m flight and then it's a bit cheaper. Sadly with just one direct flight out now on SWA, there seems like not much competiton. And as PP said, they must be on to us:scared1:

Air Tran is still $155 each way and DH thinks we should book it but that means I can't shop much in MCO and will have to shop at Buffalo instead on our way back. Not a good feeling. I hope there is a sale of sorts. Heck forget the sale, I'll even take $155 on SWA for the luggage alone.

Do a park n fly hotel package and shop the night before. Then just leave your purchases in your vehicle (done it many times)

Flights for August have been listed for quite a while now, wonder if that's why? We always book the day the flight schedule is released & we just booked a Tues flight in Sept for $145 with Jetblue.

We've flown AT lots & never a problem. They do charge $20 a bag though pp & charge for seat selection.

I've been looking for June from Atlanta to Orlando $297.00! So expensive!

We are going in October and SW, Airtran and Jetblue just released Oct dates Tues last week. When I first looked they were all around $145, 1 way. I wasn't able to book until Friday and found that the prices went up. Jetblue went up to $310 (unless I wanted to fly late in the afternoon), Airtran stayed pretty much the same but don't really feel like paying $20/checked bag and SW ended up being $155 for non stop, leaving at 12:20 and arriving at 3:00pm. I really wanted to go with Jetblue as they had a non stop at 10:10am but since it went up to $310 I said no way. Now we have to book return but am waiting till the summer. Hopefully it won't go up to much by then.

It makes me a little grouchy with the airfares. Last time we went it cost just over $700 US for 3 of us.

Don't even talk to me - just got the Amex for our airfare and it was $3800 for the 4 of us on WJ. :( We flew WJ vacations in 2009 and it cost $2400 and that included a rental car for two weeks!!! OMG

Prices from Seattle have been higher too. We flew this Jan RT for $279, now for Aug they are around $375 :sad2: Still cheaper then flying from YVR, but sheech! Glad I'm flying on points for Aug.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

My whole trip is costing that much and that includes airfare, tickets, hotel, DDP(regular) and about 2/3 of our spending money. And thats for 3 of us.

DirectAir from Niagara Falls to Lakeland has a sale on for $79 one way inc taxes. You can get return flight for $158 inc taxes. Sale ends Mar 2nd! Take carryon luggage so no baggage fees.

We are also flying out on the 21st of August. I had been watching the prices for a while, and Jet Blue's prices rose pretty quickly, so I booked SW the day they were released. Within 5 days, the prices had started to go up.

Sorry to hear that they are so high now. Our total cost was about $1150 for the four of us. Also, SW used to have 2 direct flights into MCO, but was reduced on the latest schedule.

I feel your pain. The flight prices are still absolutely ridiculous - we fly out of Seattle and were able to get return non-stop flights to MCO last time for $300 each (there are four of us), but so far, I can't get those flights for less than $900 each!! :sad2:

I booked for October the day the flights were released. We paid just under $300 per person round trip a week or two ago. Those same flights are almost $500 per person now.

It's crazy.

We want to fly from Buffalo August 18 returning September 1. AirTran is currently $155 out and $232 on the return flight. Southwest is $250 and $323 on the same dates!! :sad2:

Any hope of fares improving or should I just book? Air Canada is currently $700 return from Toronto ...

Thanks for any advice!!

Arlene

I've been tracking fares for a long time and never have I seen them this high!

I'm probably not the best person to listen to since I'm the OP, but I have not booked yet. I'm holding out. Yesterday there was an email from Jetblue with some specials and it had to be booked y/day and it went on for travel around the May time frame. We should know soon for August. :wizard:
