Is the Hollywood & Vine dinner package for Fantasmic worth it? We've never eaten there before and I'd love to get some opinions. I'm traveling with my DD 9 and parents. I know there were two other places that you could also chose from but I've never eaten there either. :confused3

Yay and nay.

The dining choices for the Fantasmic Dinner Package include 1) Hollywood and Vine, 2) Mama Melrose, or 3) Brown Derby.

We ate at Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic Dinner Package last summer. The food was good. Although it is typical buffet fare.

Would I eat there again? If Mama Melrose wasn't available - yes.

Maybe I'll check into Mama Melrose then. I don't mind buffet style, but if I'm going to pay out of pocket, I might as well do it right. I knew if I posted here, I'd get honest opinions about it. Lovin' the boards.

Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated.

It's just okay, not terrible but not fantastic either. To enable you to get tickets for Fantasmic, it's worth doing, but the buffet choice is quite basic and we felt rushed when we there.

We just are there on for the Fantasmic Dinner Package on May 17.

We'd eaten there before for the dinner package & I'll say we only eat there because of it (we don't pick Mama Melrose because there's more options on the buffet for my kids, & don't want to use 2 credits for BD).

The place is the least fun of all the places we eat at while in WDW...nothing fun or special. But I like knowing that we have guaranteed seats for the show.

Great idea to get a dinner package for fantasmic, our seats were awsome, but the hollywood and vine was terrible, The food was horrible, the food selection was awful especially for a buffet, and the price was through the roof! I will never go back.

I disagree. I don't think you need the Fantasmic package for the time of year you are going.

I would eat where ever I wanted to, which would probably be 50's Prime Time, and then I'd go get a seat for the show either 1 hour or 45 minutes before the show and get great seats in the center, half way back.

With the package, you will still need to enter between 45 minutes and 30 minutes before the show and the seats will be to the far right. They are no longer guaranteed at 30 minutes before.

I did the package several times off season and it wasn't really needed; one time (with the package) we actually walked past the package section and went and got seats in the middle. We did it twice without the package and had the best seats ever; in the center, half way back.

Good luck deciding.

Wow, definitely good to know. When we went last year, we didn't have a package deal and because we were with my mom, we had to take handicap seating because of her ECV. Center, halfway back. I'll remember that. Thanks.

Where were you seated? I'm trying to firm up plans soon so I'm curious where the seats were. Thanks!

Not a fan of H&V. We did it 2 times (character lunch and fdp) in the fall and didn't care for it. The food was marginal. Next time we will try Mama Melrose.

We ate at H & V for the Fantasmic package and did not enjoy the food at all. Even my dh, who will basically eat anything, had a hard time finding enough food to fill a plate.

I do believe we were second section from the end, We saw everything in perfect view, here are some pics , alot of people complain about end row seating but the way the auditorium is laid out, their isn't a bad seat in the place. I chose the package deal cause we have 2 kids and did not feel like waiting in line for 1-2hrs.. The way we timed it, RIGHT after dinner we walked right in and sat down. It was awsome!
