Hollywood &Vine with Fantasmic question

Planning our first trip with boys ages 4 and 7. We have the H&V breakfast at 8 with the Fantasmic package for night. This is clearly a very long time in the park. Would it be too much to leave and go back to Polynesian for a couple hours midday? This is mid September so hopefully crowds a little lower as far as taking bus back and forth.

I don't have kids, but I don't think you should have any problem with that. I did that last November for the Candlelight Processional. Had a 9 AM Garden Grill breakfast, was back at Poly by 11:30, and then back to Epcot at 5. And the walk from the park entrance to the Fantasmic theater is nowhere as far as that walk in Epcot

We leave the park and go back to the resort 99% of the time. An 8 am breakfast all the way through to Fant! is too long a day for us. I would definitely take a break especiallly with younger children. Mid September will be very hot and you'll need to recharge your batteries with a dip in the pool or a nap.

Depends on your kids. Some do better going to the hotel for a nap. Some do better staying at the park, just making sure you pace out the day with breaks (including a long lunch break, whether QS or TS).

We don't take hotel breaks. Kids just would get all fidgety and bouncy trapped in a hotel room in the middle of the afternoon. And they get more tired out running/swimming at the pool than they would at the parks. But that's us.

We break during park days more often than not, but not always on a day we do HS. Depending on the time it closes (some of our trips it's only open to 7 or 8pm) we have stuck it out and gone the entire day with the kids at ages 3-8. I find this more doable at this park than MK or Epcot because a lot of what we are doing is sitting down for decent stretches watching shows. If you need the break though you can easily hop the bus back to the Poly for a couple hours.
