We were only able to get Hollywood & Vine for our fantasmic dinning package. Is the food really as bad as people are saying. I'll be honest we really only booked for the reserved Fantasmic seating but I would hate to have to pay for a horrible meal. So please say it ain't so....

While we've never eaten dinner at H&V, we have had their breakfast which was fantastic. :thumbsup2 Some people love it, some don't. If the menu appeals to you, then don't worry about it! Fantasmic is awesome and at least you now have a guarantee that you'll get a seat! Have a great time. :goodvibes

Personally, it is one of two restaurants you could not pay us to go back to after two really horrible experiences. However, if you really don't want to wait in line for Fantasmic and can't get BD or MM, then keep it. I'm sure you'll find enough to fill you up for dinner (if not, the desserts are great and you can fill up on those). Really, everyone has different tastes, expectationis and preferences. A lot of people hate MM and we love it, so it is different strokes for different folks.

I've eaten there two or three times now and never had any problem, I thought there was a lot of variety and would go back again.:thumbsup2

That being said, there are those that have been and would never go back again.

Different strokes for different folks. You won't know unless you give it a try.

We were there in June and although the food was decent, there wasn't any real atmosphere to the restaurant, and the service was slow. We're booked at a differed DHS restaurant for our trip there in February. It wasn't bad at all, just not good enough...

We ate there in Oct and thought the food was really good, we had lunch.
My grandson had a great time, now if it was just my husband and I, we would not have enjoyed it as much.

When we went in October we got in line for Fantastmic right at 5:30ish before it opened. When they opened the gates we all hustled down together as a family (eight of us) and got great seats front and center. Then two of us quickly ran back down to the quick serve meal place right at the bottom of the hill and brought back food for everyone. We sat and ate and waited for the show. While we waited we talked, fed the kids and got them pumped up for Fantasmic. They played with the glow sticks/ lights we brought with us and the crowd did the wave like twelve times so the hour flew by. I guess my point is maybe we got lucky, but if you really don't want to do the dinner package just get there early, bring stuff to do and plan ahead. The seats we got were better then the reserved ones. I hope it works out for you either way:smickey:

When are you going? You do not need to do a package. We have never done a package and have always gotten great center seats. In fact, from what I hear the seats with the package are off to the side. Here is what we do. We go an hour before. If you are going during peak season perhaps add more time. Grab counter service food and get in line. We are always seated before we even eat and then we eat while we wait for the show. We always get pizza because it is easy to carry. I forget the name of the pizza place. The show is awesome. We always sit center and in the center. Do not sit to close or you will get wet! Good Luck and enjoy!

we have been to H&V the past 2 years. Our meals have been good. There are lots of choices to choose from and a huge kid selection. My kids love the ice cream and desserts.

is it our favorite? no.. but I would go back there to do the Fantasmic.

We did the F! package at H&V in 2008 and thought the food was fine, nothing great, but not terrible either. Make sure to bring a jacket though, in 90 degree weather I froze in there! I ate as quick as possible and waited for my Dh outside :rotfl:

We did not enjoy our dinner at H&V. A family of 4--yes, we each found something to eat. However, the quality of food was poor, and we decided to never go there again. We also felt rushed, and the place feels like a high school cafeteria. Don't worry too much, however, its just one dinner, and you will find at least a one dish to your liking.

The food wasn't bad but it was sooo noisy and the tables were very close together. I like the buffet and some of the food was the same as the PrimeTime next door but the atmosphere was awful. We would not eat there again. We did the Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package and I can't say enough good things about it. Great waiter, very helpful in making choices, wonderful food and my almost 3 year old grandson sat there for an 1 1/2 for dinner. We loved it.

We didn't hate it, but it is just food. No theme, no fun wait staff. They bustle you in and back out again. If the point is Fantasmic, then don't worry about it. If you want great dining, choose again.

Its not bad , my only issue is I dispise cheese in mashed potatoes and if they had plain and cheese I would be ok, but other then that its easier to eat there then most other places as far as smaller buffet lines.........

It is so!!! It is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW we will not return to.
The food was terrible, the temperatures were not maintained. We were surrounded by dirty, unbussed tables, our waitress was RUDE, and the Ladies Room was filthy.
Never Again

I wouldn't call it horrible, I would call it Disney average. Over priced dining experience serving the masses.

I have the fantasmic package during pres weekend with H&V. I would have rather the MM, but I will take anything!!!

I know that it has mixed reviews, but I want to get a seat at fantasmic!!

It usually seems that I am in the minority...but I am one of the folks that LOVE H&V and also recommend it.

I've eaten at H&V about four times over the years....the last time I used it as you are ....for the F! dinner pass...

I actually like the food. There is a lot of variety. My last visit... it was myself and DH (wanting good food), and at the time...DS(16) somewhat picky....DD(15) very picky...and DD (14)...decided to be vegetarian that year....

I read over every TS menu at WDW and there was literally NO WHERE else we could have gone ....and have everyone get a full meal....

I loved the buffalo mozzerella/roma tomato salad...another...the proscuitto artichoke heart salad...I like their carving station and garlic mashed potatoes...the kids liked the boiled shrimp...they had many other entree choices...the kids buffet includes chicken nuggest, mac & cheese, fries, regular kids food. Then EVERYONE loved the "make your own" sundae buffet...so we all filled up....

I really felt I got my money's worth... although I can certainly understand the mixed reviews... If it were just myself and DH...I might like to try another location ...but this was the only menu that worked for our situation...

Sorry to say that this is one place we will never set foot in again, the service was horrible, the place was filthy and the food was gawd awful...I would rather eat CS than eat there

Thanks for all your replies. We are heading there the end of February 2010 and the thought of having a seat reserved for the show without having to wait in line for hours will hopefully outway the poor service and food.

Who knows we may even get lucky and liked the place.

We cant wait for our trip to Bay Lake Tower Feb 20-27 2010.
