We have a reservation for 8:05am at H&V and a 12:45 at Sci Fi on the same day. We are only going to do one of them and my question is....which one?
I made the H&V so we would be in the park early and finished before the park opened but if the park is still opening 15 minutes early should we bother?? Or is HS back to opening at 9:00am?

If your primary concern is being at the head of the stampede when the park opens, then cancel H&V and keep your lunch ADR.

I have not had breakfast at H & V, but our dinner there was horrendous. It is one of only two restaurants in all of WDW that we will never return to.
I would keep Sci Fi

I would probably grab a small breakfast somewhere else and go to Sci-Fi for lunch. The 12:45 time will break up your day nicely. Plus Sci-Fi is one of the cooler places (temperature wise) and will be a nice break from the heat... I can't remember the last time I've ate at H&V but my last Sci-Fi Experience was nothing to write home about (food wise) but as always the atomsphere in Sci-Fi made up for it...

We did lunch at Sci Fi in September and it was a nice break. We were on DxDP and for some reason, this was one of our longer meals too. But we welcomed the break and felt ready to go for the afternoon afterwards. The food was great too!

I might be in the minority, but I adore H&V. The convertibles at Sci-Fi are cute, but I don't like eating at them if there are more than 2 people in my party so it kind of bumps the place as a priority for me. I don't see any appeal to go there if you're not sitting in one of the cars.

We have done Sci-Fi twice and all adults and kids loved it.

We did H&V breakfast for the first time last June and everyone in our group (there were 9 of us) all agreed that it was the worst meal we had ever had at WDW. I had read all of the bad reviews and booked it pretty much just for the characters for my DS and was just thinking "how bad can it really be"? Well....it can really be that bad :scared1: Other than the premade pastries, nobody finished anything else that they had put on their plate and nobody went for seconds.

Sci-Fi for sure. We had breakfast at H&V 4 years ago and it was pretty bad. It was our first character meal and that had us worried that the rest would be bad as well, but thankfully, they were not.
