Hollywood Studios with Toddlers

My kids have loved DHS at those ages! That being said, it's always been a half day park for us. We like Toy Story Mania, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and Disney Jr Live. At 3, my son LOVED the Lights, Motor, Action show and eating in the cars at Sci Fi. He also loved meeting Woody and Buzz together - not sure if they still meet and greet there or not. Our last trip was a short one, and we actually chose to skip Animal Kingdom over skipping DHS.

Where are you staying? This makes a big difference. When my children were 2 and 5 we did HS, EP, and AK each one day. Then MK two days. My two year old enjoyed all the parks. Of the nonMK we liked AK best. In general, be sure to have a double stroller.
We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside and will be reliant upon the buses. Originally we were at Wilderness Lodge, making it a quick boat trip to MK. We will be taking midday breaks for naps. HS was never on my radar until my cousin mentioned he's bringing his little one (he's been to WDW at least 30 times).

Depends on your children and what they enjoy- do they like shows? DS3 really liked TSMM, Little Mermaid, Disney Jr Live, and Muppets 3D but he fell asleep during Frozen sing a long. For us, DHS is a half day park but I know others who can spend days there.

My three-year old son loved the Toy Story Ride, Disney Junior show, and all the character meet and greets, along with the Honey I Shrunk the kids playground and the Frozen Funland. That said, I do not think the price of admission was worth it just for those things.

We loved doing the Disney Jr character meal for breakfast. We then followed by TSMM, Disney Jr show, Little Mermaid, Muppets. My daughter loves shows and getting her picture taken so it took up a lot of time for us.

Who was at your Disney, Jr character breakfast? My DS (1) only knows Mickey, Minnie and now Donald Duck. I'm taking him in December. I'll seriously consider springing for a character meal at HS, if he can see Mickey Mouse. That would put the biggest smile on his face! Do the characters interact with all the kids at least once at the character meals? This will be my first time at WDW with kids, so I'm a total newbie! :)

Also, are the character meet and greets less crowded at HS, since it's not the most popular park?

Ok, if you were staying in an EP or HS resort area I would say do half days there with park hoppers and walk or take the boats in between. But since you are closer to Downtown Disney, maybe not. I do want to suggest Animal Kingdom for little ones if you do decide to add another park.

Hollywood and Vine includes Jake (from the Neverland Pirates), Doc McStuffins, Handy Manny, and Sofia the First. Mickey and friends are not at that meal. In my opinion the good meals to meet Mickey are Garden Grill at EPCOT or Tusker House at AK. We did Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary last trip and were kind of disappointed. I don't think we will do it again. If your little guy loves Mickey, make sure you meet the one that talks to you at the Theater on Main Street in MK. It was by far the most magical meet and greet I have ever seen!

I would also say that the Meet and Greets at HS are not really less crowded. Since there are fewer rides for young kids, the lines for those Meet and Greets can get pretty substantial.

Thank you! I will definitely try to see Mickey at the meet and greet where he talks. I appreciate that info. DS will love that! :)
