Hollywood Studios to Epcot.....the walk

The walk between the EPCOT resort area to HS is such a wonderful thing to have available. No longer just 'boat only', and seems like yesterday that everybody was so frustrated about the path, will it happen? when? and then all the complaints that the path completion was taking so long!!!
Now that I take the path for granted, it's funny how I appreciate having the boat to ride, at least on occasion, more than ever...

Its a nice view at night.

I would be very interested in tracking most of our walking on our upcoming trip. Could someone tell me what the OP used to track her walking? I have an iPhone if that matters. Thanks!

This is cool! My sister and I both enjoy walking and will be there most likely at a cooler time of year(December). I would like to try this.

You can use runkeeper on an iPhone.

Beautifiul nighttime picture. So...lit enough to walk at night? We are looking to hit a 6:30 Fantasmic followed by a 9:30 Illuminations one night in December. Good idea to walk?

Yes, there is plenty light to see. Depending on the time you may run into a performance on the boardwalk as well.

Ok. So I got the app and I have a (stupid) question. Where do you put your phone while tracking your activity? Do you hold it in your hand? Can you put it in your pocket?

Pocket is fine. It operates on GPS signals to/from your phone.

When creating a route, you will use your phone's battery so I wouldn't plan on trying to use it all day.

Also, if you go inside, you'll lose the GPS signal and will not track any data.

Awesome! Thanks!

Are there any other sort of QS dining options on the boardwalk at night, besides pizza by the slice? We will be walking through around 6/630 pm, but guessing still not uber hungry from a lunch ADR (for CP) at Chefs de France at 2:30. Thanks!

Looking for QS not TS (not on dining plan, but looking for speed). What about Boardwalk Bakery? Looks like the menu is mix between sweet and savory and at least today it is open until 11pm (thanks Google Chrome).

I was thinking about doing "the walk" on my upcoming trip. I'll be at DHS for 7:30 F! after which DHS is closed. Epcot is open until 10. I am not super concerned with catching Illuminations, but was hoping I might snag a couple of rides and see EO.

Is the walk the fastest way to get there (I'm in decent shape) or is the hour+ worth worrying about?

It might be the fastest. You can outwalk the boat ride if you go at a decent clip. The bus would be quicker, but the catch is you're leaving DHS right after Fantasmic...so is everyone else. If you catch the first bus to Epcot, you'll probably outpace walking, but no guarantee you'll be able to get on that bus.

One last thing...I assume for the night you're talking about that Epcot has EMH, otherwise, Epcot usually closes at 9.

The tent under the number 5 in Robo's map above is quick and tasty-not super expensive. I swear there was a roast beef sandwich as well that was very good but I don't see it on my pic.
