What is the fastest route from HS to AK? We would prefer to use park transportation, but we will have our car. It's Sat Feb 21 so i'm kinda worried about the traffic with that being Run weekend.

Thanks!

Yeah, just use the buses to get around. I do and I always come with my car, but if you use your car I'd recommend NOT parking in the DAK parking lot. The park closes early and it makes me feel like there's a limit on my day because I have to be on a bus back towards DAK by 6 or so.

Well, we normally use the buses, but we are doing 3 quick fastpasses for HS, then off to AK for the revamped Lion King show and then Downtown Disney. I just wanted to get us in and out of AK as fast as we could on this trip.I didn't realize there was buses from HS to AK.

Is there one from AK to Downtown or would we need to go to another park or resort and then catch another one to Downtown?

Thanks again all!

There's no direct transportation between the parks and DTD, so you'd have to take a bus to a resort then transfer.

Have you heard about the construction, parking lot closures and traffic problems at DTD? Personally, I don't want to drive there right now. You could catch the AKL bus, and transfer to a DTD bus there.

We were at Disney World for the Marathon weekend last year. We were glad we used Disney transportation for the time. The bus drivers know what roads are closed or have runners on them and when those runners are there. A car driver doesn't really know.

OP - take the Disney bus from the Studios to Animal Kingdom. Osceola Parkway could be a route that is used for the run and while you may sit in traffic, your bus driver would have already known about the disruption and you can sit back and not have to fret.

Any recommendations of a plan for doing a split day in Sept? Trying to get my cake and eat it too. Want to do Jedi Training but also want to get most of AK since it closes earlier. My kids loved the Dino Dance Party at AK but I know they have the characterpalooza at HS too. We're doing a short stay so can't do both on separate days. We are staying onsite and typically do a break in the afternoon (though we might skip it depending how the day is going.

I don't see how this could be done well. JTA requires you to be at DHS early for sign up (for a time that can't be predicted easily), and Characterpalooza is in the afternoon at DHS. Don't see how time at AK could also fit into this day without some back-and-forth.

That's what I figured. Can't be at both parks early and with AK closing earlier it would make sense to do HS the second half of the day but would have to forgo Jedi Academy. He's 4 and already has had the opportunity to do it at Disneyland and HS but its on of his and my wife's favorites. Guess they'll have to make a decision. Wish there was a way I could FP both parks but since I can't seems to make sense to FP HS for Toy Story and ToT.
