What do you recommend besides Sci-Fi and Prime Time Cafe? We want to try something new. We have reservations for the fantasmic package at the Brown Derby, but I may change it.

Hollywood and Vine ?
When are your ressies for Brown Derby ? Can I have it ? LOL

We have reservations at H&V (FDP). I hope it's good....I've heard mixed reviews. I originally wanted Mama Melrose but they didn't have anything when we called.

Guess we will see soon enough. I guess if we don't like it we can always get something else later (we have an early enough time to grab something else) before the Fantasmic show that night.

WE've always done the H&V for fantasmic packages & always have a good experience. It's nice for everyone to be able to choose from the buffet what they want, esp. since DS is picky - plus desserts & I think (but not positive) soft drinks are included. It is also not as expensive as BD which can add up if you have a large family.

Mamma Melrose is really good in my opinion.

Depends on the type of food you like. We hate H&V and will never step foot in it again (and we love buffets) and we were not impressed with Brown Derby. We wanted to give it a second chance, but because of it being two table service credits on the dining plan or very expensive off, we've not gone back as there are too many other places we like or want to try. We really enjoy Mama Melrose--DH likes the chicken parmesan and I love the four-cheese flatbread pizza.

We didn't care for Brown Derby either and with a party of 7 six being boy's / men and being expensive it's not worth it. In my opinion.

In my humble opinion the Brown Derby is the best restaurant in Hollywood Studios hands down. MY DH loves the grilled New York strip steak with mashed boniato is too die for. I loved the goat cheese mushroom tortellin appeatizer and the crabcake. We eat lunch and dinner there when we go. It great to sit there and relax and have a nice meal after a long day of fun at the park. Enjoy!

Oh please stop....your making me hungry!!! :lmao:

We have heard good reviews of BD and made two ressies for the Fantasmic Package just incase it rains.....and if it doesn't we will get to see Fantasmic twice. :yay: We love it that much!!!

My husband likes Brown Derby the best. With our big group, we usually go to H & V...because of the kids...however, it was actually less expensive to go to Brown Derby with the whole group...kids, husbands, grandchildren...than to the buffets...

I hear ya. I could go for one of thse cremini mushroom tortellinis right about now. I've also tried their cobb salad and it was wonderful. We have never had a bad meal there. Make sure to make a reservation as they are always booked.

Glad you liked it. Gives me hope that we will like it. If not we'll know better next time.

I'm sorry but I love Prime Time and last year we did H&V and I was so sorry that we didn't do PT. Hope your meal is much better than ours!

I haven't been to Brown Derby, but I have a friend who is a serious foodie (we love trying all the pricey places in Vegas, and we usually agree on what we like and don't like). She loved the BD when they went to WDW last year and made ADRs for her upcoming trip.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I do love BD, love the cobb salad. But, now we have a young, active 3 year old and I am not sure if he will sit through the meal. Having to use 2 dining credits and have him ruin it would be rough. I also decided that we may not be able to do Fantasmic as he is terrified of fireworks. It may be too dark and intense. We will see. I think we may do sci-fi for lunch.

Love, love love the Brown Derby. The Cobb salad is to die for. We also enjoy the
grouper as well. If you ever have the chance "Dining with an Imagineer" at the BD is also alot of fun and very informative. Have done that a couple of times.
