Anyone had a Hollywood Studios reception? Or know the costs involved? Has anyone attended or held a Fantasmic Dessert Party? x

The costs vary by location. For example, a reception at the Prop Shop costs about average: $300 for the venue rental and $1,500 food and beverage minimum at dinner. But if you wanted to use the Great Movie Ride, you'd be looking at a $3,000 venue rental fee, a $2,300 food and beverage minimum, and a mandatory $8,300 entertainment package. So it really depends on which venue you have in mind. :thumbsup2

I went to a Fantasmic Dessert Party last year. Here's what I posted about that:

The setup is on the patio at the back of the amphitheater, behind all the benches. The patio is divided into a smaller area and a larger one. Both areas have railings that separate them from the main walkway running between the patios and the crowds.

View from the big patio to the small one:

The buffet is set up at the back of the patio:

The view is OK - the lighting rigs kinda block it but you don't get wet! :thumbsup2

These photos were taken standing at the railing, so about as close as you can get (but they were taken with an iPhone, which accounts for their low quality!):

Both patios have a $250 venue rental fee and a $750 food and beverage minimum. The small one holds up to 40 people, while the large one can hold 40 to 100. There is also a $75 setup fee and then a $12.95 viewing fee for each person who doesn't have park admission. ALSO: Fantasmic! has a higher cancellation rate due to weather than IllumiNations and Wishes.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for your advice! It really is so helpful! x :cheer2:

i saw some posts with links somewhere on thedisneyweddingblog.com? cool pics of a dinner set up in the gangster scene of the great movie ride and then desert in oz! really neat! i have to say, i am not so much the fan of the fantasmic dessert party. 1) DL fantasmic kicks the you-know-what of the DHS fantasmic and 2) i don't think the location is all that great for viewing. unless i was standing up and craning to watch the show, i couldnt really see anything from seated tables. i also wasn't a fan of the desserts served, but i have seen raves about other dessert party items that lead me to beleive there is probably a wide cost array that could be spent and probably a better selection than what i experienced. that said, a wedding/reception location is a whole nother kettle of fish and that might make the whole fantasmic thing really cool!
