Hollywood Studios Question

I just reserved Hollywood & Vine for 8am on a day when the park opens at 9am. My question is my nephew really wants to do Jedi Training. If we planned to try to leave H&V around park opening time to go sign him up, anyone know approximately how far it is between H&V & where you sign up for Jedi Training? Also if the park opens at 9am, do they let people in earlier? And if we haven't met the characters yet at H&V would my nephew & I be able to run out & sign up while the rest of my party stays & then we come back?

Jedi sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous building on the other side of Echo Lake. It's between the American Idol screen and the JTA stage...should take less than two minutes to walk there from H&V.

You can go with your child to sign-up and then return to finish your meal. Plan on heading to Sounds Dangerous by 8:40/8:45.

We were able to do this last January, but I believe they are letting people in earlier now.

We had an 8am at H&V (GREAT character breakfast, BTW!). We finished eating, saw all the characters, and then rushed over to Sounds Dangerous, getting there along with the rope droppers. We got in the 1:30 JTA show, which actually was perfect for us. However, if they are letting people in around 8:30/8:45 now, you may need to send someone over to get in line while you finish your breakfast or meet characters. I would say as soon as you see people trickling in to the park, you need to be heading over.

Thanks so much!! I was mainly wondering how long I should leave between leaving H&V to get to the Sounds Dangerous building, and this answers it perfectly. Here is another dumb question....from inside H&V will I be able to see people trickling into the park? I haven't ever been there before, and it's been about 20 years since I was inside Hollywood Studios (was MGM back then) so I am not real familar with the set up.
