I need some help. Hollywood studios menu looks plain bad, not a little bit of bad. I have fantasmic at 6:30. after that, it's hard to get anywhere for sit down dinner.

Can you suggest a place nearby I can have sit down lunch? Like the resorts near by? how about the transportation? I don't want to waste too much time on transportation because I'm not sure if we can finish that park in a day. Assume we arrive there at rope drop.

I would eat somewhere at epcot like coral reef or le cellier (if u can get in) and just hop over to HS after. You pretty much can't go wrong with a sit down at epcot.

You could always take one of the boats (or walk) from DHS to Swan/Dolphin or one of the EPCOT resorts- BW, BC, YC. There are several dining options along the Boardwalk and in the resorts.

I don't know what kind of food you like. Personally, some of my favorites meals are at DHS, like the tofu at SciFi and and the veggie sandwich at Backlot Express.

From time to time, we take the boat over to Captain's Grille at the YC. They have a fairly nice menu. Of course, if you use the boat you have quite a few Epcot resort restaurants to choose from.

Happy eating.

:)

How long does it take to walk to gate, take a boat, and arrive Captain grille?

I was going to suggest the same thing - head out to Boardwalk - plenty of choices there!! You could also give Beaches & Cream a try - depending on what you're looking for :)

How long - by boat, it's not that long...maybe 5-10 minutes to get to the Boardwalk area. By foot - it's a 15 minute walk...+/-
It all depends how fast you walk, kids, tired... many factors here!! :)

Walk time to gate depends on where you are in the park when you start walking - from, say, the back corner near Lights, Motors, Action, I would say 10-12 minutes at most.

The walk from the gate to the boat is quick - 2-3 minutes.

Once the boat arrives and you board (allow 10 minutes for this at least), then the actual trip to the Yacht Club will take you about 15-18 minutes.
It takes about 8 to get to the Swan/Dolphin (first stop) and from there it is easy to walk over the bridge to the Yacht Club and you will probably arrive before the boat does.
To get to the Boardwalk, allow 20-25 minutes of time on the boat.
To get to Epcot, allow 30ish minutes on the boat.

Lunch at Captain's Grille is lovely, so to me it would be worth the trip. I like dinner here too - we book this one when we are going to be in the Studios for the day and are looking for a 1-credit/less-expensive dinner. (For our favorite dinner in that area we book the Yachtsman, which is 2-credit.)

There are really good restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin, too - but if DDP is a concern, they do not take credits.

We are leaving DHS for lunch too and heading to Big River Grill. Menu looks like it has something for everyone. It may be worth a try.:thumbsup2

What's the order of boat stops? what about return trip?

From HS, it's Swan, YC, BW then EP. If you're going to BW, get off at Swan, left off dock, left over bridge and you'll be there 8 minutes quicker. The boat moves at a snail's pace.

Reverse order coming back to HS. IMHO, I thought the dinner at Mama Melrose was surprisingly good. The Tuna over risotto was cooked rare and quite tasty. You're going to spend a lot of time with that commute when you could be riding RnR :thumbsup2

If I can find something at the park, I don't need go to the resorts. But it's nice to see the resorts and find out where we'll stay next time.

I don't have TS credit anymore. But I can skip Biergarten if I find something better. Mama Melrose menu does not interest me.

Don't count out 50's PTC. The food is good and there is a pretty big variety. It's hard for there to not be something on the menu for everyone (but it does happen from time to time). We usually have lunch there on every trip on our DHS day.

The Brown Derby is one our favs in the whole World. However, I am right that you are looking for 1 TS places? I believe HBD is two.
