hi. i have never been to WDW or Florida. ( been to DL California so know a bit how Disney parks work)
We may be going to WDW in July.

regarding Hollywood Studios.
- it looks like most of the park is Star Wars. we have not seen the recent Star Wars movies. ( but we are fans of the Star Wars from the 70's). So we are not interested in meeting Kylo Ren or seeing the movie trailor and movie props.
- But we love Star Tours and would love to meet Chewbaca.
- there doesnt seem to be that many other attractions. Muppet, Toy story, Movieride, Aerosmith, ToT.
- and the only shows we would want to see are the IJ stunt show, and Fantasmic

so for someone who isnt into Stars Wars much, how long would you expect to spend in Hollywood land, in July.

Not much has been closed from HS that use to be open..but yea, until they open up the two new lands, it's a half day park for us.

You can easily spend a full day there and their Star Wars firework/Projection show is REALLY good. Along with the character stage show.

But if you don't plan on doing everything in the park. Out of what you mentioned you want to do, I'd budget probably 6-8 hours. With key fast passes and starting around noon since you want to be there at night, you should have enough time to get done what you want to do

Thank you for the info.
I didnt know about the Star Wars nightime show. thanks

I was there in early June last year.

Got there at rope drop; we did

Tower of Terror
Rock'n'Roller Coaster
Star Tours
Muppets 3D
Toy Story Midway Mania
One Man's Dream
The Great Movie Ride
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Frozen sing-along
Beauty and the Beast: Live on stage
Indiana Jones stunt show
Meet the Green Army Men
Meet Olaf
Shopped

We were in the park from 9am to 230pm on a crowd level 8 day. I got lucky with FastPass by using them for TSMM, ToT and Frozen, than got additional for Star Tours, and RnR.

So you can do almost the entire park in 5 hours if you know what you are doing by either planning ahead or knowing what you are doing enough to take advantage of the opportunities as they come.

We did rope drop until 5. We loved it. My kids are 4 and 2 and loved the shows. We ate at 50s prime time, which took about an hour. We didn't ride TOT or Rock's roller and still spent that long there.

For me personally as someone who cannot stand Star Wars and who is not a huge Toy Story fan (it's fine...I just think there are better Pixar things out there and wish they were going with a "Pixarland" rather than limiting themselves to Toy Story with the land), it is a NO day park for me. I refuse to waste a ticket to do all of two rides (RnRC, TOT) (is the Great Movie Ride closed yet? if it's open that's three) plus Fantasmic! - I have many more things I'd rather do.

We go to HS for two or three half days during our trip, cause I prefer to eat at Epcot. But in total, yes, I think it's a whole day park.

For me it's a 1/2 day park right now.
You can fastpass almost everything.
Since they have the tiered system, you will have to choose the 1 tier one that you want then get FP's for the others after you have used your 1st 3.
If you are morning folks, you could go in the morning when the park opens... ride before the crowd gets busy. Then head to downtown Disney for awhile or
back to the hotel to swim or nap, then come back late afternoon to ride more, see fantasmic (if you choose) and see the Star wars fireworks show.
I think you will still like Launch bay since you are fans of the original movies.
There is lots of stuff in there from the originals.

It's a no-day park for me! :) The only thing that interests me is TSMM but not enough to spend the time getting there and then getting back to somewhere I want to be!

It depends on the person. If you enjoy everything that is in the park, you can spend a whole day there. For us, it isn't even a half day park. To be honest, we skipped it last summer, and will again this summer.

Once they open the two new lands, we will visit again, but right now there are really only 3 or 4 attractions in the park that interest us.

As we want to see both the Star Wars Fireworks and Fantasmic, no, it's at least a day, split into two part days generally!

Can you get out of Fantasmic in time for the Star Wars fireworks? Are the fireworks going to be around for a while (summer) or is this just a special winter/spring thing?

From what I've read you cannot make fantasmic and the fireworks in one night. Which would be why the PP splitsvthe park into two different nights.

On our upcoming annual trip we decided to add a park ticket onto our package. We'll use it on our resort day to go to HS for about an hour. FP Rockin' Roller Coaster, standby toy story. Then we'll see Fantasmic and leave. That's all the time we're giving HS this year.
