Hollywood Questions

So I'm trying to plan a trip to Hollywood to during my upcoming DL trip and I had a few questions for some locals or people more familiar with the area than me!

First question, probably the easiest, what would be the simplest way to transfer from a Hollywood Hotel to Disneyland? I'm not planning on having a rental car and I'm not too keen on the idea of lugging my luggage all through Greater LA's transit system. Any ideas on how much a taxi on a Friday afternoon would run?

Second, how safe is the Hollywood area at night time? i.e. after it starts getting dark? Like the areas around the Chinese Theatre and walk of fame.

Finally, are there are celebrity hot spots accessible by the Red Line? I'm planning on staying near there and won't have a rental car so just wondering if any of the Sunset Blvd. areas I’ve read about are within good walking distance or anything!

thanks for any advice!

Hollywood is safe at nighttime- the Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame are tourist attractions so you should feel comfortable. After midnight the traffic dies down and you might see some weirdos- there is alot of homeless people in southern cali.

For transport - you are better off calling a shuttler service to take you from Hollywood to Orange County. A taxi would be approx $100

I second that.

I live half a block off Hollywood Blvd only two blocks away from
the Chinese Theater. It’s quite safe at night. Like any big city
(NY, Chicago, Austin, Seattle) there are homeless people around.

I’m thinking a 35 mile taxi on a Friday night would be more than
$100. But I really don’t know. The Concierge at your hotel will
be able to give you a much more accurate price range.

No celebrity hot spots that I’m aware of on the Red Line. North of
the Hollywood/Highland stop is Universal and North Hollywood. Not
many celebrities there. And south takes you into downtown.

The Roosevelt Hotel bar Tropicana is very popular with the younger
Hollywood elite. You’ll see celebs - if you can get in.

“The Room” on Cahuenga is a little hard to find, but it the THE
place to be on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. You might see a celeb.

But the reality is most celebrities avoid Hollywood for obvious
reasons - lots of out of towners hoping to spot them. You gotta
go where out of towners don’t go.

The Red Line will take you to union Station in 20 minutes, and from Union Station you can book Amtrak train down to Anaheim or Metrolink Train down to Fullerton....then a taxi to your hotel.

Luggage, if it's not huge and bulky, shouldn't be too much problem if you go maybe 1pm to 3pm before the trains get real busy. Or on Sat or Sun they're quiet until about noontime.
