Hi all
Has anybody had a reception here?
Would it be possible to have a small Escape brunch here?
As it is a private reception albeit in a theme park, I assume you are okay to wear you wedding gown to it?
I quite fancy a SBP ceremony at noon and then a Friendship boat over to DHS for the reception. Could that be done or would you be obliged to have backstage transport?
As it is a themepark location, outside photography is not allowed, so as an Escape bride would I be able to have Randy for the ceremony and have the included DPS at the reception?

No you can't use your photographer included in the Escape package at the reception. The present situation is you cannot exchange it for anything, you either have them at the ceremony or you don't have them at all.

If I used this plan, I guess I would have to ask a guest to take photos at the reception!!
I plan on asking Randy to join us for brunch. Would this be allowed if he promised not to take photos!!

I'm not having Randy at my reception even though I could to save money and don't really want photos of myself eating! So I'll prob just ask DF's bro to take a few photos.

I don't know for sure but I don't think Disney would let you get away with that, although not sure how they can stop you.
 

I considered Hollywood Hideaway, but we outgrew it. I'm sure it would work great for a small reception.

Because you'll be wearing your wedding dress using a friendship boat wouldn't be possible because the boat doesn't go backstage. You'll have to charter a bus to get your guests to and from the reception.

We would maybe have time left on the limo charter as the included charter for the Escape package is 4 hours and we could maybe extend it by a couple of hours to get everyone back to their hotel.

an Escape reception is 2 hours and normally the limo would start about an hour or hour and a half before the ceremony depending on the number of stops you'd like it to make.

Since your ceremony is a SBP you could see if the limo could start at the end of the ceremony and then you'd be fine, or if you could add hours to the limo might be an option.

In my documentation for my studios reception it says a Disney Charter bus is required, but I'm not sure if the limo would count for that.

It's located in Hollywood Studios near American Idol towards Star Tours.

It's used as a VIP room during special weekends like Star Wars Weekends and the former Super Soap Weekend.

It would be incredibly annoying to have to charter a whole bus for 14-16 guests!!
I know when you have to go backstage at Epcot you can use limos, towncars etc but perhaps DHS is different.
Since you are doing a reception at DHS, could I ask about your theming/decor/favors etc. Do you have a PJ

Our theme is Disney History. We're not doing much decor just some small centerpieces, and for favors we're not sure yet. Something having to do with Disney History.

I'm going to start an organized trip report. I've got most of it typed up. Just need to sit down and put up the pictures. Now I have some motivation so I'll start that today.
