I am thinking of booking this for our HS night. Fantasmic is a must see for us, and I figured we would be in the parks anyway late afternoonish, this might be a good fit. Any thoughts? How early would we need to get to the show with the package vs without? This will be October 24, which right now shows Fantasmic as a 9pm show.

We haven't been to WDW in 12 years, and I remember this park not having good food options. Any opinions on the food here, or should we consider other options? Just grabbing snacks and showing up early for the show? We will be at the F&W festival around lunchtime, so we don't need a huge meal, but would be fine with a sit down if it was good food and minimized the wait time for the show.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Btw - it is just my hubby and I this trip. TIA!

HBD is probably the best option HS, especially with just adults (I am going to endure H&V with the christmas menu and characters for my 8 year old son but if it was all about me, HBD would be my choice). The other sit downs are fun and more down-home food - Sci Fi and 50's prime time... also Mama melrose gets decent reviews although the waits there can be outrageous... and only the latter has the F! package. I know for the H&V, the dinners are somewhat early to still work with the F! package though, I think the latest seating tends to be around 5pm. I'm not sure if that is for an 8pm F! though.

The F! theater has a lot of seating and you can also get priority seating by simply fast passing it, without the meal option. I'm not sure how early you need to get there without a package or FP though (or even how early you need to get there with). Someone else will chime in I'm sure. I am not at that point in my research yet!

I would recheck your park hours. Currently both the WDW site and easywdw show F! at 7:30 on Oct 24.

We have always really enjoyed both the food and service at HBD, and have eaten there as part of the FDP several times. Dinner slots for the package are very early. The latest you could get it would probably be about 4:30 (3 hours before show time). Because I hate eating dinner that early we choose to do the package for lunch- a nice long break after a busy park morning. Then we grab a CS meal for dinner.

You need to be in your seat at least 30 minutes before show time. If the show reaches capacity they can release any empty seats in the reserved section at that time.

You say you probably won't want a full meal, so the F! pkg is probably not a good idea. It is a set price or 2 TS credits and includes app, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink. Everyone has to pay and that's going to be a lot of food for a "not a full meal" tummy.

We did the FDP at Brown Derby last summer and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. The food was so good! It is a full meal though and it is expensive.

Does anybody know if you can order the Kobe steak that is listed on the menu for $74? I didn't know if that was included in the Fantasmic dinner package?

I did not know that it was a set a meal where you had to have apps, meal, and dessert. Thank you, that does help a lot. I think I may go with trying to Fastpass it. We never have apps, meal, and dessert. More like drinks, apps, drinks, drinks. Lol thanks everyone! And I thought 9pm was late. I was using the My Disney Experience page and it did say 9pm. 7:30 would be much better.

Can you see Fantasmic AND the Star Wars fireworks? Sorry I don't know the official name.

So, when I book HBD (or Mama Melrose) on the MDE site is there a place for me to indicate that I want to buy the Fantasmic dining package as opposed to just making a ressie to eat there? Would I have to book it in a place different from the dining reservation page on the MDE site?

TIA,
Karen

Yes, if you want the F! dining package you book it from the Dining Package page, not the regular restaurant page.
On the F! Dining Package page you will pick a restaurant and a time, then search.

I believe so. Last time we ate there, if I'm remembering right, everything on the menu was on the F! package menu also. Matter of fact, when we sat down they were out of F! menus and gave us regular menus and said specifically that, the options to choose from were the same. I don't recall them saying something wasn't included.

Thank you so much for this info. Do you know if it can be booked at 6a.m., the same as the other restaurant ADRs?

I am not sure about that. Seems like I just read recently that they don't always release the F! Dining Package reservations at 180 days. It's been a long time since I planned a trip that far out so I'm not really sure about that

AngiTN, thank you once again :flower:
