I was planning Hollywood and vine lunch for our October trip. My son will be nearly 3 and my sisters loved this restaurant when their children were his age. I thought he'd like that he can get up and do activities. He's familiar with the characters, except handy manny, but they're not favorites.

I'm reading how terrible the food is. Knowing the characters aren't his favorites, is the dancing and other activities worth it? Should we do dinner with Minnie instead? Should we skip all together? We'll be staying in a bwv 1br so eating in the room or somewhere at boardwalk is also an option.

Mickey and friends and pooh and friends are his favorite characters. We're planning chef mickeys dinner on arrival day and crystal palace breakfast on our MK day.

H & V is the only restaurant I will never return to. We were surrounded by dirty, unbussed tables, our waitress was RUDE, the only time that has happened at WDW. The hot food was not hot, the cold food was not cold, the buffet was a mess, & the Ladies Room was filthy. Never again. If he doesn't care about the characters don't go.

I am actually on the other side. We love H&V! We have been for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is pretty standard Disney breakfast, at dinner the lobster mac and cheese is great, so is the BBQ orange chicken! It is my go to Fantasmic dining location. Found the food good, hot stuff hot, cold stuff cold. Great service, fun games/dances with the Disney Jr characters, great interaction with Jedi Mickey and friends. (We will miss Jedi Mickey!) For our next trip, I have a breakfast and Fantasmic dinner booked. Can't wait to see Minnie and friends in their beach wear!

I will second this:thumbsup2 Its a must do every trip for us for breakfast. The kids love it and would be really sad if we missed it. We've gone for at least the last 8 years in a row ( could be longer). Lunch wasn't as good, but not terrible either. We just did dinner on thanksgiving with holiday Mickey and the gang, and we loved it. We just booked breakfast again for September. Didn't book dinner this time because Halloween theme won't have started yet, and don't need a fantasmic package. But we've never had a bad meal there.

We had a great meal there! Was a lovely dinner and the characters (Dinner....Minnie's Screen and Dine) were a HOOT!

I refuse to go to Chef Mickey's but Hollywood and Vine was great

This was actually both my and my DH's favorite buffet last trip. It was the best tasting food we'd had out of all the character buffets we had done. We went for Lunch. It was clean and the service was good.

The food is so, so bad. I don't consider myself particularly picky, but i found H&V gross. Except the desserts, those were amazing. Still, as bad as the food was, the characters made the experience worth it. My kids loved the dance party and meeting the Disney Jr. Characters, but Jake and Sofia are amongst their favorites. If your son doesn't love the characters, I'd skip it and go somewhere else.

I really love H&V - lunch is amazing, food is fresh and delicious. The characters seemed to spend quality time with everyone in the dining room.
