Everyone is going to have a different opinion. You have to take all of us with a grain of salt. We went to eat here on our last trip just because I wanted to see what all the fuss over H&V was.

I did not think it was in anyway awful, gross and disgusting (as I have heard others say) but it was just okay. Nothing special. Nothing great, just okay.

I personally did not like any of the desserts and there were no chocolate choices at all! That is just not acceptable to me. :rotfl:

The garlic/parmesan potatoes and the beef were the highlight for me

The kids enjoyed the mussels and the peel and eat shrimp

DP thought the broccoli slaw with the soy nuts was her favorite part of the meal.

Hope this helps some. :)

H&V is NOT one of the places I will want to be returning to soon. I haven't been impressed by the food anytime my fam and I have been there. Much rather go to Momma Melrose.

Went there on our last visit to Disney...didn't leave hungry so it must have been pretty good.

We ate there for breakfast in January and we enjoyed it very much. Never been for dinner but to be honest I am not a big dinner buffet person.

My kids enjoyed it so much it's the one place they asked to go again. It could have more to do with the characters rather than the food. :)

I Actually recommend H&V F! package in certain circumstances...

My last visit with the entire family... I had some REAL Food pickiness issues to contend with... The Fam would NOT have been happy with MM's...although I've never eaten there and will go there my next visit. (I am Not one of the picky ones !)

I have eaten TS @ DHS: H&V=4x , HBD=1, 50'sPT=1.

Here is a link to our last visit to H&V. I really don't think it deserves a BAD rap at all... just not a place I'd go if I had more adventurous eaters...or just by myself....

Take other people's opinions with a grain of salt. Try it for yourself and see for yourself.

We did H&V lunch and we liked it. It wasn't the best but it's not the worst. The food was ok, nothing spectacular and nothing awful. The character interaction was very good. They get to sing and dance with the characters as well as the characters come around and take pictures and do autographs. The restaurant was clean and the buffet was hot. So, no it was nothing to write home about. But i didn't have a bad experience either.

Yuck, yuck, yuck! We were there 3 weeks ago for dinner. It was the worst meal of our entire trip, and actually one of the worst meals I think I have ever had at a restaurant in general!

I had to smile when I read this-- my family and I did not like Mama Melrose's at all and I doubt I'll talk them into going again, but all of us really enjoyed H&V! Just goes to show you that there's no accounting for individual tastes, so sometimes you just have to try it and find out for yourself whether or not you like it!

We loved H&V. And fussy DH made me get another adr for our next trip. Perfect for that Fantasmic package.

You will get your fill of food and it is good, but you can get the same good food at any buffet. I just think that there are better buffets at WDW

I thought breakfast was perfectly fine, but it wasn't extraordinary. We ate there simply for the characters but now that my kids are over the Little Einsteins we probably won't eat there again. Unlike eating at the castle or Crystal Palace, eating at HS doesn't give you a ride advantage at the rope drop. :(

We really like Mama Melrose, so don't feel the need to try H&V for dinner. I'm not a huge fan of buffets at WDW. We did try it for breakfast last week since DD is a huge fan of Little Einsteins. I actually enjoyed it more than CM breakfast buffet. Plus, the characters spent a lot more time w/ DD at H&V and they had a great interactive dance session, much more fun than at CM. DH doesn't want to return (he hates breakfast in general) but I would definitely return w/ DD.

Yeah, we were super bummed to find that out. We had our plans in place for TSM.

Breakfast was great. Loved getting in before the park opened and being first on Toy Story. If we have to eat (which we do) we don't really care which characters are present. It's just easier to get in the park early that way.

How'd that work? When we ate there they had a guy holding people from going into the park until the official rope drop with everyone else. Granted, we still got to the ride very early, but not because we had some large advantage over everyone else.

Not my favorite meal of my last trip, probably the least favorite. There was nothing really wrong with it, it was not yucky or gross, other places were just better. It was really loud is the thing I remember most. I am sure you will be fine!

We've only ever done the Play n' Dine breakfast and we weren't fond of it. The characters were great although now that I think of it if they haven't been updated they need to be. The characters were Jo Jo and Goliath from Jo Jo's circus and the Little Einsteins. We went in 2008 and from what I remember Jo Jo's Circus hadn't been on for some time prior to that, my kids had no idea who they were. The Little Einsteins they knew, but I don't even think that is around much anymore. The food was ok, but not great. I would have rather been at Chef Mickey's and I remember paying more for Play n' Dine. I will say though that I am considering trying it again, but for dinner with the Fantasmic! package for our next trip.
