Hollister??

I like Hollister, A&F, AE ect...

The clothes are nice and yea they are trendy.

The posters, i dont really look at them that much so i dont really have a point on them, but i do have to say this,

Whats going to sell, an atractive (wo)man or an unatractive (wo)man?

There's Bebe which is really expensive. Some shirts can go up to $100.
Betsey Johnson can easily go over $300 for an item. T-shirts there are over $150.
Designer brands are a lot more expensive.
Club Monaco, Kenneth Cole, etc.

A LOT more expensive than abercrombie.
You can get a shirt for $15 from abercrombiekids.

Hollister is cheaply made. There's been reports of the shirts getting holes in them after washing them just once.

Never heard of any of those stores. Obviously, we're only talking about places like where you live. NONE, I repeat, NONE of the malls around here have those stores. I've never even seen one. We've got just about 1 of every chain store, though. Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Journeys, Pac Sun, Tommy Hilfigger, Banana Republic, Gap, Aeropostale, Norm Thompson, Oshkosh, American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Wet Seal, JC Penny's, Sears, Macy's, Hot Topic, Dick's Sporting Goods.

I guess I just don't live in a "trendy" area. Am I not cool, then? And BTW, at my abercrombie, it's $25 minimum for a shirt. $40 min for a sweatshirt. I can buy 3 shirts that I really like, that aren't made using sweatshops, that will last for a longer period of time, that are just as trendy, that actually benefit the enviornment at JCP for $25. Or, I can buy 2 sweatshirts that are much nicer and don't fall apart.

Aeropostale is the only really "trendy" store I shop at and that's only because they have really good sales. I'm talking like...99 cents for a nicely made shirt good. I've got shirts from there that I love and they're well over 2 years old with little to no signs of wear. Even the jeans I buy there are only worn where I walk on the hems.

Not only where I live, I would've thought that these stores were everywhere.
Those stores have TONS of locations throughout the U.S., so they aren't only where I am.

And who said anything about being cool?
It's just a clothing store..with clothes. Just like any other clothing store you'll find.

The nearest Bebe is in boston (I'll assume because it lists Mass. and that's the most likely place). NH, Maine, Vermont aren't even listed.

same for Betsey Johnson.

I'd also have to drive to Boston for Club Monaco.

That's 3 hours. At least.

And I only said the whole "trendy" comment because some of the posts on this thread have made is seem that Hollister is the "trendy" place to buy clothes. So therefore, if I don't buy my clothes there, I'm not trendy. It wasn't directed at you, or anyone else, specifically.

No Betsey Johnson, no Club Monaco, and no whatever else it was.

And comparing BJ to A&F is ridiculous.
BJ is an actual designer, A&F is not.

None of those stores are in my mall. The closest we come to designer is Dillards, which carries Ralph Lauren.

I live in Northern VA/DC and Ive never heard of ANY of those stores just mentioned.

If that aint "Trendy" then I dont know what the heck is...

Alright, then I can compare it to non-designers as well.
Delia's. They have cute clothes but they can get expensive. $25 for a thin white t-shirt.
Gap gets expensive as well.
And I've never found a problem with any of my shirts..no holes or anything. Some shirts I've had for YEARS and I still wear them. And they're fine. Like I just got them, even.
Most of the clothes are terribly comfortable as well.
And that's why I go there. There is no "Oh, it's just cool to go there". I've never heard of that before until now. I go there because the clothes are nice, the clothes are comfortable, and the clothes are durable.

Only trendy store? I consider all the stores that I shop at and like to be trendy. Mainly Aerpostale, quiksilver, and pac sun.

Eh, I'm indifferent. I used to only like a few stores..I was really picky. Then I started to erm..get creative and try lots of new stores.

I use to be a freak about hollister and abercrombie when I was 13ish. Then I changed into a completely different person, and I didn't really want to shop there anymore. I'm pretty strange when it comes to clothes now.

My shirts are all band/disney/thrift store shirts, but my jeans are pretty much all designer (Saks Fifth Avenue has the best skinny jeans for people with freakishly small legs and big butts like me). Most of my jeans are from Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus cause they're closer to me than SFA.

I am a person who doesn't believe that only preps were labels, as I wear jeans from "labels" all the time (7s, Hudson, True Religion, etc).

When I first got shirts from A&F in sixth grade, I also got some from Old Navy around the same time. The clothes from Old Navy lasted longer. I still have all of those shirts but the ones from Old Navy wore better. I have a few things from Hollister (just tops) that I still wear and seem to have held up pretty well.

I haven't bought anything from A&F since 2004. I can't justify it for just clothes when I can find very similar things that are more attractive (in my opinion) at Kohls, Dillards, Macys or Target. I really like Old Navy though, which is probably the "trendiest" place I shop at regularly.

J.Lo and Donna Karan made jeans that I used to wear when I was thinner (I gained like 30 pounds after I graduated so they don't fit anymore) and I wore them for a few years. I loved how they fit but can't see myself spending that much on jeans when I can just buy Levis for $30.

The only store that was mentioned before that we have around here is Bebe. I didn't know Betsey Johnson even had retail stores? Oh well.

Sorry I rambled, I can't sleep so I guess I have nothing to do but talk and think about clothes!

Hollister doesn't sell preppy clothes. Ralph Lauren sells preppy clothes.

Hollister sells trendy clothes.

Preppy is polo shirts, argyle, and pleated skirts.

The word preppy is completely misdefined now-a-days.
