Holidays in Mod or Value

We spent 5 nights at BC, 5 nights AKL sav view, and 1 night Poly this past summer. We'll be heading back Dec 2006 for just a few nights to catch the Osborne lights before our Disney Cruise. Where would you recommend (value or mod only) we stay to enjoy Christmas decor and just for overall convience and amenities?

Just a background on us.... It'll be me, dh, 4yo ds who loves Buzz and Pirates, and 6yo dd who wishes she was Ariel. We enjoyed the BC decor but had some bad experiences with the resort (some their fault, some not). We LOVED everything about our experience at AKL and will probably stay their one night following the cruise. We thought the Poly was nice but not worth the additional money. Fun pools (is it warm enough in Dec??) and easy transportation to park are big selling points.

We love CSR but have never been at x-mas. CSR has a great main pool area but not sure if the weather allows for much pool time. CSR has a spa, salon and gym, it is centrally located to all the parks and offers terrific transportation that is not shared with other resorts.

We have stayed at CSR, CBR, VWL, SSR, BCV all during the holiday time and our favorite is by far WL!!! It is gorgeous during the holidays and is warm and cozy. Get a cup of hot cocoa and sit by the fireplace and listen to the great music in the lobby. Oh, it makes me want to go back just thinking about it. The pool is nice too an it can be nice or cold at that time of year, it just depends. My children always seem to go in the pool anyway since they are heated. They others were nice, but we love WL!

We have also visited GF, Poly, CR, ASMovies, OKW, and Fort Wilderness during that time. It is worth it just to resort hop a little, if you have the time, and see several with their decorations.

Thanks. I have not been inside CSR, but hearing you mentioned it reminded me how pretty dh and I thought it looked at night when our bus dropped off some other ME passangers.

WL is very pretty. It does seem to have the perfect Christmas atmosphere. We ate at Whispering Canyon our last trip and were kicking ourselves for not staying there (had orginally booked it but changed to BC). I think we should go Mod or Value since this is an extra trip we are squeezing in and really the 7 night Disney Cruise is the focus of it. But who knows if a good discount comes our way (one can hope right).
