This is our first time to WDW in Dec . Would like to know what kind of treats to check out while there. I hear there special Holiday themed food from taffy apples to cakes of different sorts. Give me an idea what to check out. Give your best Hoilday treats from around the WDW Parks to the Resorts.:cool1:

are the mickey gingerbread cookies only at Epcot?

Nope. You get get those yummy little guys at Goofy's Candy Co in DTD, The Candy Store on Main St in MK...the Candy Cauldren and I think maybe the Writers Stop in DHS, Germany Bakery in Epcot...not sure about AK.
Just a warning...when we were there last Dec they were sold out at most locations! I finally found them at Goofy's Candy Co and stocked up. They make a nice Holiday:santa:Breakfast.
(Kind of embarrassing that I know all that...)

You can also get gingerbread shingles, plain or choc dipped, at the gingerbread house at GF (which you should definitely visit anyway)

Do you know when the gingerbread house will be at GF? I know when we've been there in December it was there but we're going November 8 - 12 and I didn't know if it would be there that early.

I had read about the gingerbread beignets and was wonder if anyone has tried them. They looked good in the picture.

None of us liked the gingerbread shingles from GF.

Although not a snack this year I am definetely getting the gingerbread cookie mix etc. I hope they have these again with the cutouts. I didnt pick them up last year and everyone was going crazy here on the boards trying to get them etc.

im not a huge gingerbread fan but the candy cane fudge sounds amazing...and im sure they make homemade candy canes, ive seen it on the travel channel and they always sell out...this will be my first year at christmastime too..! and im super duper excited...and one thing that my sis always gets when she goes to disney thats a treat but a christmas treat is the zebra domes...she loves them!

The homemade candy canes are at DisneyLAND, not DisneyWORLD, sorry. I've never seen the gingerbread beignets, where are those? I have to agree with the gingerMickey, I love him!

When we went last Dec. I looked EVERYWHERE for the infamous gingerbread cookie mix with the adorable Mickey cookie cutter. It was sold out at every place. Finally one night at Mousegears, my DD asked a CM if they had any and she brought out 2 of them for me. I made them when we got home (even dipped his ears in chocolate;)) and I can confirm that they are FABULOUS. Worth the effort to find the mix. :goodvibes

We didn't like the shingles from GF either. Is the mix different from the ones at GF? Are the Mickey chocolate dipped ones different from the shingles?

Just wasn't sure if there were different recipes in use, as I usually like gingerbread but did not like the shingles.

I have never had a *shingle* so I don't know! Not sure I even like the sounds of it. ;)
I can tell you the Mickey Gingerbread Men (both the ones you get in the Parks and the ones made from the mix) are very soft and tender with the perfect amount of sweet/spice. The chocolate ears are the *bonus*.

Keep the suggestions coming! I'm headed down for a quick visit...my first holiday trip...so, I want to make the most of it!

I had read about the gingerbread beignets .

I read about them as well and it seemed like they were at the Main Street Bakery, but at Halloween! I hope they'll be available at Christmas.

Frankly, I associate gingerbread with Christmas more than Halloween.

I didn't care for the shingles either and we bought one for each kid:sad2:. But I am going to search for the gingerbread Mickey, because the shingles were not soft at all.

I love making gingerbread if you can't find the mix just search for a recipe, it's not hard to make at all and your house will smell divine.

I seem to remember a drink stand set up during the Osborne Lights near the Writer's Stop that was selling holiday drinks. I think they may have had some type of spiked egg nog if I remember correctly popcorn::
