Holiday Tour info

Well I'm back from my Thanksgiving trip to DL...we had an amazing Holiday Tour and it was worth every penny for it!!! Our CM was funny and told alot stories about DL and Walt Disney. We were running a bit late and we were touring along with two other groups. So at certain times there would be two or three groups at the same location during the tour. Visiting the candy store for free fudge was fun, as was our visit to the Reindeer Round-Up with Ms. Claus. Seeing HMH was AMAZING!! I could not believe my eyes when I saw this. What an amazing transformation! We were suppose to ride SWH before the parade but the ride had broken down. We rode it after the parade. However we did have one small minor problem. For some reason all 15 members of my tour group got loaded onto one boat. As we made the 1st turn into SW, our boat tilted and we got STUCK in the tunnel!!! Some girls in the back FREAKED out because they thought the boat was gonna flip over!!! After 10 mins, two CM's came over and help the girls who freaked get off the boat. Once they did, the boat re-aligned and we were off. It was kinda scary at 1st, but as we finally made our way thru SWH, we all had a good laugh about it!!! I do believe I have video of this, I'll check my camera when I get home. But the front row seats for the parade were GREAT(I got a 'shout-out' from Santa who liked my Santa hat with Goofy Ears!!!)!!! And since it had cooled down a bit on the day after Thanksgiving (Fri), the hot cocoa was a perfect way to see the parade. I trully recommend that people take this tour. Lucky for us, the crowds were so LOW we probably did not need to cut the lines to ride HMH & SMH, but on a crowded day this is SO WORTH IT!!! I hope to post pics soon!!

Thanks for the report Jon! My boys and husband could think of few greater tortures than being stuck in IASW :scared1: I've kind of glossed over that portion of the tour. We are booked for 12/27 :thumbsup2

When the parade ends at IASW (6:30 parade), what time are you done? I'm trying to make PS ressies for Cafe Orleans.... TIA!!

We went on the holiday tour today. It was just fantastic, I can highly recommend it. Did keep an eye out for LGMH but didn't see any.

I thought we were going to miss it as we were booked to go on Friday and my DS was sick, I was hoping that he was going to be ok and was so upset thinking there was no way at this late stage that we would get another time/day or even if they would let us reschedule at 12.30pm for the 1.00pm tour. But they were just wonderful and we were able to get spots for the 1pm today (just two days later). :santa:

I'm so glad you had a good time. How was the parade in your prime seats?

The parade was fantastic and so were the seats! Right where the parade begins, such a great spot and we Loved the hot choc in our mugs, it just turned cool before the parade so it was so nice being warmed by the hot choc whilst waiting for the parade to start.

Has anyone seen any current info for the holiday tour?

No. They haven't even updated the holiday dates on the DLR site yet. What would you like to know? Those of us that have been may be able to hazard a guess.....

I've got a question :) How fast does the tour go? My mom has walking issues and Im wondering if we should get her an ECV that day so she can keep up.

If we had my dear MIL along we definitely would have rented a wheel chair for her for the tour. That way she could walk behind it if she wanted but for the times when we just 'followed the candle' to the next stop we would have had the ability to move right along ;)

I would say that the tour last around 3 hours and our CM tour guide was walking at a nice pace with our group.

I just got my tixs for the day after Thanksgiving...YEAH!!!...two tixs for the 4:15pm tour...the earlier tour is at 1pm...I'M SO HAPPY!!!...now I can start planning my days...I'm gonna try to get Fantasmic! for the 28th, late showing...if I get tixs fine, if not no big deal... I just want to do the tour, ride the two holiday attractions and see the parade....anything else I get to do over the Thanksgiving weekend is BONUS...I can't believe in 30 DAYS I'll be at the Happiest Place on Earth!!! :yay:

I'm glad you posted this. I am hoping to go on the tour the day after Thanksgiving when I am at DL this year. Some of the TR seemed like it was only offered on the weekends. Good to know. Still got a month before I can call.

Bump bump!

November parade schedules are posted! Can't wait to book my tour!

If there is a parade scheduled for 5:30, should I expect the tour to start about 3? I love to plan ahead and this 30 day thing is driving me crazy...

Also, is the later parade better because it's all lit up? Or am I going to enjoy the earlier one just as much?

So many questions....I can't wait this long!

Last year our tour started at 3:15 and by the time we were viewing the parade it was dark. If you'd like to see what we did on our tour:

We loved it!
