I was reading on allears that some buffets may have holiday pricing in effect when we go in 2 weeks. what exactly is this and how much more is it? Is it going on now?

It is going on until right after 4th of July (I think it ends on 7/5). It's a surcharge the regular price. I haven't been able to find a site that shows the specific surcharge for each restaurant, but from what I can gather it's about $4-$5 for adults, $2-$4 for kids.

Allears says these restaurants are affected:

Boma Breakfast and Dinner, Cape May Breakfast and Dinner Buffet, Chef Mickey's Breakfast and Dinner, Trails End Buffet, 1900 Park Fare Breakfast and Dinner, 'Ohana Breakfast and Dinner, Captain's Grille Breakfast Buffet, Tusker House, Garden Grill, Princess Storybook Dining, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Play 'n' Dine at Hollywood and Vine

Summer holiday surcharge is in effect 5/25?-7/5 .The next one to watch out for will be Thanksgiving week. There is also talk that all of December until after the New Year will be a Holiday surcharge period. This is an extra amount tacked on to the buffets during what Disney considers peak dining periods, and does not neccessarily have to fall on a holiday.

We ate at Chef Mickey's in March of this year (which was over spring break/Easter) and the price for that was $33.99, if I remember correctly. When I called and made our ADR, the CM quoted a price of $29.99, but the actual price was higher due to the holiday surcharge.
