Has anyone every stayed there. We be there for a week in Nov., did not pick it, group decision kind of thing. The reviews I have read have been mixed. Thanks.

I assume you asking about the Holiday Inn Maingate East, right? If so, I stayed there this past May. It was OK, I guess I would stay there again. Housekeeping was not the greatest. The hotel is in need of renovations for sure. Naturally the pictures you see on the website are taken from the most advantageous angles, so don't expect the place to be as nice as it looks.

Unless you have done the time-share scam and know what you are getting into, beware of the 'guest services' desk! Will you be using the free shuttle to Disney, or will you have a car?

I would consider the property next door to the Holiday Inn, that is, the Comfort Suites Maingate East.

There is a running thread to which I have posted my experiences and delights with the Comfort Suites Maingate East.:wave2:

Yes, I meant the Holiday Inn Maingate East. Some friends of mine got a single parent discount there. Several children will be going so we thought this hotel seemed child friendly. We will have our car, so no need for the shuttle. I have already made reservations there, but there is always time to change them before we leave. Does the Comfort Inn have the micro and fridge, or suites, that is what we are looking for.
Thanks

My family stayed at the Holiday Inn Maingate East approx 5 years
ago. The first room we were given was not very nice. The carpets were not clean, there were ants in the bathroom area, and the safe did not work. We held out until the next morning, and asked for a diff room. The staff were very helpful, and upgraded us to a renovated pool room. She told us these rooms normally cost $10 more. I would have gladly paid the extra money if I had know. The renovated room was not fancy, but was clean, and everything worked. The next year we got a bargain rate for the Comfort Suites Maingate East. This place was much newer, and nicer. The room was much larger, and had 2 queen beds, couch, table, micro/fridge, and a safe. Housekeeping did a fantastic job! The pool was not very deep, but my kids enjoyed it. I enjoyed the hot tub. There was also a free continental breakfast. I would definitely recommed Comfort Suites Maingate East.

Hi deirdrefitch!

What would you consider a good rate for the Comfort Suites Maingate East? Do you think $55/night is good?

I think that would be a good rate. As I said in my other post, we paid $49.00 two years ago.

Thanks for your advice. I am very tempted to book, both because of the price, and because of the exchange rate.
