Holiday Island, Arkansas? What is it like?

Anybody from there or near there? My wife and I are considering taking a look at a place for vacation / rental property. It seems like a growing area, with the climate we love.

Don't laugh... we saw a 5 minute infomercial with Chuck Woolery as the host, and a 2 minute spot with Erik Estrada.

Still the places look nice.

We own a couple of lots there and a condo in Branson. Love the area. You can rent a home there for a decent price, so you might look into that as well.

We have a vacation in May that we aren't sure what to do with. Maybe that is an option to check out.

I LOVE the area! I don't know much about Holiday Island itself since we've only gone past it but you're so nice and close to my favorite little town on earth Eureka Springs and also close to Fayetteville which is good for shopping and going out.

Can I just say that I'm jealous?

Well, we haven't "done" anything yet. But we are investigating. It does seem like a wonderful area, though.

This also seems like an area I would love to retire to...... today.

Matt and I are planning to look at land there when he comes home on R&R. We haven't made up our minds yet but want to buy the land now for when we get out of the army and settled somewhere. I'm from Arkansas and love that part of the state. I can pass on those commercials though. My mama lives on the other side of the state and said she just wants to see Erik Estrada there for the weekned in his CHIPS uniform

Erik Estrada was a strange choice! He's advertising that retirement community outside of Hot Springs isn't he? I wonder if he's ever even been in Arkansas.

Well, from me, it is "down there", but to answer your question, "no". I have been in the area 2x before, but many years ago.

It just looks like a chance to get in now, before it gets much more well known and expensive. I LOVE to fish and feel like I am in the "great outdoors".

Well, actually, we won't be doing the one with Erik Estrada. After doing a lot of research today, it seems like that is more of a marketing ploy with higher prices than one needs to pay. That "spot" was just what got me thinking about this.

Heck, we may not do anything at all.

For sure, right now, it will only be a land purchase, if anything.
