just wondering if anyone has stayed here!!! but in a kids suite.. :confused3

Hi There
We stayed here last May...the rooms are not as shown in the Virgin brochure. Only a few have been refurbished to the castle standard we had expected. The one we had was extremely tired looking. This was after the first one we were allocated and refused as beyond filthy.
The kid suite is basically just a partitioned off area and the partition does not go all the way up to the ceiling so offers little extra privacy. If anything the child in the top bunk gets a panoramic view over the top. There are supposed to be beds for three children and there would be at a squeeze but the beds are not full size . As the rooms all are accesible off the balconies i did have concerns about security too...there is a large window on each room but we felt this made the rooms almost like a greenhouse very humid and bedding etc...felt very damp as a result .The carpets and furniture were also very old and tired and there was no where to hang clothes. There is a little kitchenette with a fridge and coffee maker also an iron and board. The bathroom was ok. The housekeepers did there best and always provided lots of towels daily. We looked at several empty rooms and they all seem to be around the same standard with the exception of the castle rooms for which you pay a lot extra.
The communal areas were much nicer...the pool especially lovely. They show movies on the large screen at weekends which are noisy in the rooms if you dont want to join in. These go on until around midnight! The restarant did a nice breakfast. There is a room for kids to watch movies in which is basically videos on a loop. This was not supervised. There is also a kids camp but my two didnt go to this as we had so much else to do, The location was great only five mins from the main gates and easy for Downtown Disney and the restaurants at Crossroads.
In summary i would not stay there again preferring to pay the extra to stay onsite. We still had a great holiday as we were out and about all day but my feelings on arrival were pure disappointment not what you need after saving up all year! There are some more reviews along the same lines at tripadvisor.com which might help you decide. Hope all this helpsxx

we stayed hee in 2001. certainly wouldnt recomend it. when we arrived and got given our keys, we unlocked the door to find a meeting going on in the room they allocated us!!!.
Rooms very very tired, outdated and dull. as the above posting states, only a partion and bunk beds for the kids, a desk and a chair, nothing like we were expecting. there was mould growing on the ceiling.

the safe locked itself, with all our park passes, and camera's in, so we couldnt go out till they came and fixed it!!.We had excursions booked for Kennedy space center and couldnt understand why they hadnt contacted us concerning pick up times, apprently everytime they phoned staff told them we werent even staying in the hotel!!!!
The pipe in the bathroom was leaking, so came back to a flooded bathroom. Maid service wasnt very good, didnt get clean towels unless we asked, despite putting the dirty ones on the floor.
Would never choose to stay here again!!!

the plus side is its in great location for DTD, and a good couple of restaurants within walking distance. personally i expected alot more for my money.
Now Ive had several more trips, and know what I can get staying onsite, I can see how bad this place was!!!!!!!!!!! SORRy

We stayed here in 2003 and found the place disappointing, I would echo the comments made above. We go again this Christmas and NYE but are elsewhere - I would not return here or recommend it to others.

Our room overlooked the pool area which was still being used up to midnight most nights which created a lot of noise. We were moved to a quieter non-smoking room. However, this was an interconnecting room with people who were smoking, the smoke found its way through the interconnecting doors into our room which was noticeable on our arrival back in the evenings.

The kids suite idea sounds good but it does not afford either you or the kids any privacy at all. If you can, either pay for an interconnecting room or change to a proper suite elsewhere.

Thanks everybody :rotfl:
well i think i will stay at the hotel we have already booked!!! its just it had a kids suite but by the sound of it,its not worth it :sad2:

Not much to add to what's already been said! We actually swapped from the Springhill Suites, which we had already stayed at,to the Sunnspree because of the look/description in the brochure! Room smelt musty, paint peeling off of the bunk beds, remote controls that only worked sometimes,a tiolet that kept blocking..........The communal areas were fine: Gym had a nice selection of resistance machines & cv,pool area was clean & daily entertainment poolside, main hotel was likewise clean & tidy just really let down by the rooms.Definately wouldn't stay there again!!
SD :woohoo:
