We just got back home last night. So, here's my experience.
They are doing refurbishments to the hotel. It looks like everything has been repainted and depending on what floor you get the bathrooms have been updated some. Our 10th floor suite hadn't had the bathroom done yet,but our 4th floor suite had.
The suites are in a different area than the standard rooms and it looks like the carpets in the hallways have been replaced by the standard rooms but not by the suites. But, that carpet wasn't disgusting or anything by the suites, just older.
The suites are huge, but they do have double beds. It was no big deal, I just slept with my 15 year old daughter, because my husband is a bed hog!
Two of the teenagers slept on the pull out couch and they said it was fine.
The microwave and full size freidge was nice to have.
The parking can be a little crazy. The TGIFridays and the fact that they have a convention room can make it buisy, but even the farthest parking wasn't that far away.
The location to Universal is excellent!
