My mom and I are planning our vacation around July this summer. Does anyone know anything about the Holiday Inn in the Walt Disney Resort? This hotel is in the downtown Disney area. On their website it says that it is closed for remodeling since 2004 because of hurricane damage, and should open around December 2005? We are really interested in this hotel because it will completely be remodeled. If it is not open we are planning to stay at the Best Western there are downtown Disney. Can anyone help us, we can’t find any information.

We stayed there on the last weekend that it was a Courtyard by Marriott(I had gotten it on priceline for one night before checking into BCV). It really did need a facelift so I hope HI did. It is central to DTD and had a shop selling disney tickets, etc. It was ok for one night but rooms were very old and video games did not work , etc. I'm sure with the renovations, it should be fine. We went by it this chrsitmas and the sign was up so I think its ready.

rumors after they are looking for a buyer.

they got into trouble with the $0.01 - rooms - they offered by mistake.

lots of people here took up their offer.

I just brought up an old thread about this.

I'm going to assume that my reservation in May is longer valid and I'm going to find somewhere else to stay - I feel bad now and won't accept another hotel for that low rate, my rate was actually $1.18/night.

Hotel is still being worked on. Construction stuff sits outside the hotel. It stll says Holiday Inn.

As per Holiday Inn, the hotel is still undergoing construction. Tentative plans are to re-open in early April 2006, with the key word being "tentative." At this time, the hotel plans to reopen again under the Holiday Inn brand.

Given all the time, resources and, most importantly, money Holiday Inn has poured into the hotel, I guess it makes sense they do not want to sell the property just yet in its current under construction state because it's doubtful they'd be able to recoup the money paid to buy the hotel in the first place, in addition to all the money spent on construction equipment, materials, crews, etc.

One has to wonder, however, why the process is taking so long? In the time the hotel has been closed, newer and larger hotels are built from scratch. Is it just me or is it unheard of for a Downtown Disney hotel property do be shuttered for almost two years?

Is this a regular Holiday Inn or a Holiday Inn Express?
I would really appreciate the info. Thanks

It is a regular Holiday Inn, complete with outdoor pools, jacuzzi, food service outlets, room service, etc.
