Holiday Inn Family Suites

Hi

You can get a copy sent to you thru calling the Disney World main number and asking them to send it to you. I believe you can also get them at any resort or park. Also, look in the Unofficial Guide to Disney World at your local library or book store under the term disabilities and it will tell you exactly what to do to get one and where to go. I believe there is a card you can get (but i think if your son is in a wheelchair you won't need the card). If you ask a cast memeber about the disabilities help and they don't knkow what you are talking about, request to speak to a manager or supervisor because sometimes the new help doesn't know all the ins and outs.

I hope you all have a blast.

Follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board and we can answer all your questions.
Near the top of the disABILITIES Board, there is a FAQs thread. In one of the FAQs, you will find a link to the official WDW website which includes a link to the Guidebooks for Guests with Disabilities for each park which you can print out. You can also get a copy at the parks at Guest Services and usually at WDW resorts.

In most cases, wheelchair users wait in the regular lines with everyone else. There are some rides where wheelchair users board at the exit, but you are usually routed to the exit just before the rest of the guests get to the regular boarding area.
The card that was mentioned is called a Guest Assistance Card; it's a tool for CMs to know what assistance is needed by people with invisible disabilities. If all you need is to be able to use the accessible lines, you won't need a card as long as you have a wheelchair.

Hi Lori

There are other hotels around that have suites and you can get some great deals if that will help with your budget. Try Hotel Kingdom and, if you get an entertainment book for your area, they have a card that you can use for further discounts at area hotels. (They run about 25to 45$, this is how i got a rate of $76 for Holiday inn fmily suites before they discontinued using the entertainment club. This card saved me $76 per nite, so call around to different hotels first and see if you can save big bucks.) Places that had good rates for suites were the Cypress Pointe and Cypress Point Grand Villas (thru hotel kingdom), also the Vistana Resorts. Try a search for suites if you can , there are a ton of them out there. Some ( i think embassy suites is one, offer free breakfast or continental breakfast for the family as well.)

Also try ticket brokers, like the mousesaver recommended Ticket Mania. Join Mousesavers (free) and you can get extra bucks off. I saved approx. $40.00 a ticket for 7 day park hoppers. Also, if you aren't going to use the water parks or pleasure island, save a few bucks and get the hoppers without the pluses added on.

One more thing, when you arrive, get to the Orlando Visitors Bureau (another thing to check on Mousesavers) and get you rOrlando Magic Card (have it mailed if you have time, or pick up there) It also offers discounts on some Hotels as well as some pamphlets and a card that offers discounts on restaurants and attractions outside Disney.

I really hope you get to go, i am rooting for you!

Lauralee

PS: just called HIFS, rooms with kidsuite, two bunks, pullout, sleeper sofa, king bed and kitchenette, with Mousesavers disount special runs $114. per nite withfree buffet breakfast in the morning. Hope this helps, if it does, try and book it quick, no money down, 72 hr cancellation with no penalty, good luck.

I had seen them when checking for our trip and rechecked them for you the other day. HIFS is supposed to be great but this will be our first time as a family (i have been 2 times before). I think Cypress point if fairly close, but i don't know exactly where. HIFS is very close to the disney properties. We are going 12/11-12/18, hope there is no snow in the forcast for the 11th!

Have fun.
