We have reservations at the HIFS for 12/11 and i know they are changing into a Nickelodeon Holiday Inn. Has anyone been there lately? I am a little nervous but we got an awesome rate of $76.00 per night while they were still excepting the Entertainment Club Card and it includes free buffet breakfast and a kidsuite so I am definately keeping the reservation. Any info on what it is like would be great.

Thanks.

You can do a search and find numerous posts from people who basically like the hotel. People say the free breakfast is ok and the rest of the meals are adequate to poor.

BUT the hotel is presently under construction. You might CALL the actual hotel, not the HI 800 number, and find out what will be closed during your stay.

We were there 9/25-9/27 because of the hurricane. I liked HIFS. When we were there, half of the resort was walled off for renovations and painting. The check-in area was in a mobile unit parked behind the hotel, but it was perfectly adequate. The large pool area was open as was the pool bar area. They were working on the minature golf area so that was closed. The restaurant area was mostly open although there were arees of construction. They continued with the fun and games in that area. The arcade and gift shop was open as was the kids spa area. I really didn't notice too much that was closed. we ate most of our meals on site because of the hurricane. I thought the food was good--the pizza was excellent, and the hamburger I had was very tasty. The breakfast was crowded so I stuck to the cold items. We actually liked the other meals much better than the breakfast.

We were there at full capacity and had no problem with parking or other services. I thought all the staff were very nice!! I loved the layout of the kids suites. That is a great rate--I would definitely stick with your reservation.
