Has anyone heard anything about when they are suppose to open, if at all? I have tried making reservations online as far ahead as July and there are no rooms available, I have also tried the months of May and June. I keep wondering what is going on. I can not get any answers from any of the numbers that I have called. I plan on going down in May on their special internet rate. Anyone with information I would truly appreciate the latest word on this place.

the May special rates - $20 to $29 were for the Marriott - I don't think HI will do this?

Walked by there a couple of times last weekend. There did not seem to be much activity, either construction wise or just people moving around, at the hotel. I'm trying to remember if it was there that I saw a bunch of construction type stuff in the hotel's parking lot, containers or something.

FWIW I think my wife told me that there was a recent news report on Orlando station about the Hotel Royal Plaza next door, that it is reopening soon.

I tried that number Friday afternoon and let it ring and ring and ring, and no answer. I have the 1.13 special that I elected to use in May but now I am wondering.
Phrank40 - If you go by again, I would really appreciate any updates. I don't want to book airfare if they are not going to be open.

I've also got the $1.13 rate and changed my dates to Nov.2006. But now we are wanting to go in May and I can not get ahold of anyone. I've emailed twice with no response and they never answer the phone.

I'm keeping my dates as is, but I'd really like the cheap rates for our May trip. Even when you call the main Holiday Inn line, they have no idea when the hotel is going to re-open.

I'll let you know if they ever email me back.
