Holiday Inn DTD

Does anyone have new information about the Holiday Inn DTD? I believe it is still included on their website, however when we were there in May the hotel seems to be closed with a fence around it.

We stayed at the Royal Plaza on the 6th & 7th. The Holiday Inn is currently closed as it is being refurbished. The Royal Plaza was recenty refurbished and it looks really great! We enjoyed our stay there!

The Holiday Inn has been closed for quite some time (after the hurricane). I have heard all sorts of different rumors about it, including that the owner has run out of funds. I can't believe that Disney has permitted this to drag out so long. Remember, this hotel was originally opened as a Howard Johnson, then changed to Courtyard by Marriott, and finally Holiday Inn.

Thanks for the info. I'd love to think it will re-open, but seems it may take quite awhile.

I read a story online were they incorrectly loaded a room rate and sold loads of rooms for 7c each. They said they lost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
