Just wondering if anybody has stayed at the holiday inn by marriott since it has changed from the courtyard by marriott in lbv,we are staying there in may this year and were wondering if the new name made any difference to the service given, also we picked up the newest virgin brochure yesterday and noticed in the first few pages that virgin are mow doing what they call a contact card which you can use to call home plus get discounts at shops and attractions, anybody used this card, was it easy etc.any comments on either topics would be most helpful, thanks.

When did it change to the Holiday Inn. We are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in Palm Parkway, Lake Buena Vista at the end of February. Booked via the Marriott website and it still appears as the Courtyard by Marriott.

Have stayed here a couple of occasions and have found it a nice hotel. Rooms are OK. Within easy reach of everything. Nice walk to the Downtown Disney if you fancy a stroll.

I booked a room at the Courtyard by Marriott in Palm Parkway at the beginning of the month and have confirmation for end of February.

I find it strange that a Marriott hotel would be bought by the Holiday Inn, surely a chain as big as Holiday Inn would buy the whole Marriott chain not just one hotel. Perhaps someone can correct me on this one.

Ive never stayed at a Holiday Inn in the US but have been more than happy with this particular Marriott hotel.

We had a letter come through from virgin holidays just before christmas to say that they had received notification from the hotel that from 1st january 2004 they would be changing their name to the holiday inn in the walt disney world resort.
Having said this it still goes under the courtyard by marriott in the virgin brochure, although on the virgin holidays website it says
"formally the courtyard by marriott"
hope this clears up any confusion.

Still confused.

Do you mean the Courtyard by Marriott in Hotel Plaza Boulevard or the one in Palm Parkway?

Just to clarify, these are 2 totally different hotels. The CBM LBV at Palm Parkway is across the main road from Disney property, close to The Olive Garden at LBV. The CBM Downtown Disney LBV is now the Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn had no hotels in the area, CBM had 2, so they sold one. Hopefully Holiday Inn will vastly improve the CBM DD as it needs it. We stayed there and it was party central, we hardly slept.

thanks for the clarification!

I'm booked into Palm Parkway. I have also stayed at the one in Hotel Plaza Boulevard and I agree with you it has seen better days, breakfast was pretty gross and we thought it needed a bit of work.

Hopefully this will improve now

thanks again

Whilst I would agree, this hotel has seen better days. Having said that it is in a great location, the shuttle service to the parks is very good and they used to have a great thing called the manager's special, every afternoon. This consisted of free wine, beer, sodas and nachos. We have stayed three times and i would gladly stay again. Try to get a room overlooking Disney to get a good view of the fireworks and also to avoid the I4 as that side of the hotel can be very noisy.
I have heard they are going to start renovations in November.
