Holiday Inn At Universal On Kirkman Rd?

Has anyone stayed here? I have a one bedroom suite booked for August.
Wondering what the shuttle service is like to Universal. Does anyone have the schedule? Can I walk from the hotel to Universal? How about the restaurants within walking distance ( Golden Corral, Ihop, Cracker Barrel), are they any good?
Any tips would be appreciated.

I have never stayed at the holiday inn but have stayed at the doubletree that is across the street from it and yes you can walk to the golden corral and the cracker barrel but the ihop I don't know cause I have never seen one that was close enough to walk to.
I know that the shuttles for universal from the doubletree is about 8:00 am and they do stop at other hotels and do fill up quick and I know from the doubletree it is a 10 min walk to universal but you do have to cross kirkman but we managed to do it fairly easy and I think the distance is about the same for the holiday inn.

i used flippers for pizza and that type of stuff delivery.

you meet them in the lobby of the hotel.
not a bad deal.
get coupons in the flyers they have at the gas stations, grocery store,etc. for flippers.

Yeah there are street lights and going to Universal to cross the only thing is you have to walk fast due to the lights.
We did eat at the cracker barrel and me and my family loved the meals we ate there cause the food was good and we also ate at tgi fridays and they were good to but a little pricey when your on a budget and if you feel like walking you can cut across the doubletree's parking lot and there is a golden corral and a steak house but never tried them but there is also a burger king also which my DS's begged me to go to get burgers for them.
There is also a walgreens up there by the golden corral that is good if you want to pick up snacks or soda cause that what we did last year and we will be at the doubletree agian this year for 2 days and plan on doing that agian to save a little money.

We stayed at this property some years ago. For the money it was great. We had a 2 bedroom suite, 2 bedrooms separated by a living room and 2 baths. Other posts are right...you can walk to Universal but you have to careful to mind the traffic. I would check out the shutttle schedule when you get to the hotel.

Great !!! Thanks for the info. This really helps. We will check out the shuttle
bus but want the option to walk if we can. That is why I chose this area. I also chose Holiday Inn for the one bedroom suite and great price. I heard good things about Flipper's Pizza. Good to have many choices of places to eat
near by. Can't wait to go.

The TGIF is in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn and the walk is no more than 10 minutes. You do have to hustle when you cross Kirkman but there are lights.
